Wow tip 1 is gold man thanks! but for tip 4 does that apply when you use a tripod, i assume when you use a tripod and remote shutter all shaking is eliminated

all of those tips are for hand held photography. once the camera is on a tripod, it is a different game, as you can do long shutter exposures, keep your ISO down, and do composites(photo stacking). it is assumed that once on a tripod, you will not induce any shake, but there are variables to that(such as the ground your tripod is on, is it solid, is it going to slide, etc).

timer function(2 secs or more) is a worthy option while tripod mounted for long exposures. just make sure focus is locked, beforehand

if your camera has an intervalometer, you can also do time lapses while on a tripod

i have them on all 3 of my bodies... they stay locked on very well and with all the daily commotion and use, they have not failed me...

before switching to these eye hoods, i was losing my stock eyepieces about every 4 days...

During our vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC my car was broken into and all of my camera gear was stolen, totaling about 7500$

Now I am lost, I searched all of the local pawnshops while I was there. have been watching craigslist and Ebay like a hawk. Even paid the stupid 10$ to CameraTrace.com and they dont even list the images I have on the web.

So im thinking of maybe setting up some kind of Donation thing, or something to try and recoup some money so I can get some new gear before Oct, as I have Weddings booked!

Not sure why you're thinking of getting donations. Rent a camera for your shoot and go through insurance.

Leaving 7500 in a car (which means still unprotected) in a tourist town is a silly idea.

Sorry for your loss, but maybe it will spur you to do a little more thinking next time.

I never leave it in the car, and we weren't really in a tourist area. (at my grand parents house) we were just really busy and I forgot to take it out. and I cant really afford to rent I mean push come to shove I will have to no doubt, and as far as the donations thing goes, I was thinking about doing a kickstarter, so there would be services or prints for giving for money been given.

and yeah I defiantly will be getting insurance for anything I buy from now on.

If you have that much invested in equipment and use it for your livelihood then why you didn't insure that equipment for a few extra bucks a month is beyond me.

Again, donations are an odd thought but good luck.

An exchange idea for prints or services sounds totally feasible. I would think that would yield far better results.

Sucks it was at your relatives house, but MB is MB is MB. SC has had a lot of theft going on with the economy. Tourist town and easy enough target.

Sorry to hear it. I'd be surprised if the thief kept the gear, hope you find it being sold and have your serial numbers together proving ownership later on.

if you have some paid gigs lined up, you could also finance the new gear...

i usually look for finance deals when i need to upgrade my gear...

for example, Samys Camera has their own financing and they do 12 months interest free on larger amounts...

B&H uses Bill Me Later via Paypal with 6 months interest free...

Haven't touched my camera in months. Been taking a break, shooting sports all the time gets a little dull, but football is amping back up and this little break has made me enthused to be picking my camera back up! But, until then, a little iPhone photography from this past weekend. Sunset was killer.
