That's a nice step up from the 5100. Should keep you busy for a good while. I really like my D7000 and didn't see enough to warrant upgrading.

My next upgrade will be full frame. I'm already planning on it by only buying FX lenses. Besides I'm only a sharpie away from a D700. lol

 

that's the best way to start doing it, and getting your money's worth. just like a lift kit, when you go bigger, it only gets more expensive

 

I love to learn! Problem is limit of time and limit of knowledgeable teacher with equal time . . . I'm doing my reading and practicing when and where I can though

 

Shot this bachelor party thismorning

 

Big lightning storm just south of the house last night. They usually move north up the valley, so I got the camera and tripod set up. Took some cool shots of the clouds, and waited for it to get dark. And waited, and waited. The storm moved directly east. Never got close enough to see anything but flashes of light.
Then it started to rain so I called it a night.

 

ahh that's frustrating! At least you get storms! it's sunny 345 days of the year here...

 

Scored a Nikon 50mm 1.8 in mint condition for half price.

I installed Lightroom today. Once I take some photos I'm going to start figuring that out.

 

dat 50mm is sharp from f2 and on. good score

 

Got a couple tonight. These were the best two. Lightning was going absolutely crazy. At one point I counted 79 strikes in one minute. Too bad most of that was on the other side of the mountain.

Oh, and this was my very first attempt at blurring background. Focus isn't good on the Mercedes at all but I liked it nonetheless. I'm a happy noob haha
