Last selfie for a while haha lame I know. I'm just enjoying testing out this sweet little camera while I can. Overall my only complaints of it are weaker low light capability and the continuous AF tracking. Everything else compares to or exceeds my D7100. Lenses are actually sharper in good light, but also a little more noisy at higher ISO.

What's the ISO that it gets really noisy at? I dont like to go over 1600 on my 60d... I hate noise.

Ski'd on the Birkie Trail yesterday.

A water drop made it on the lens in this one ha.

It's weird because you can tell it's getting pixelated and noisy at early ISOs like 800 but even all the way up to 6400, the last point to where it looks really usable imo, it still looks good. It's like it's more noisy, but it still looks sharper and there is less loss of detail. I'd have to show you 100% crops of both side by side but I actually prefer the noise look on this camera. Just looks a little like grainy film.

This one is at ISO 6400 and then compressed by the crappy TW Gallery upload ha

Still usable, the noise is "worse" at close inspection but much less detail is lost when fit to the screen. I need to print larger from this thing to really see if it's usable but it looks like it would be to me.

I also need to stop putting off setting up my Flickr with LR5 haha

Above 6400 I don't really feel comfortable, which means slow shutter speeds in dim light, which means blurry photos if anything is moving at all so . . . I don't know. ha

I don't even do 6400 for star shots. Too much noise. 4000 is my max

And ya Chaz. LR is so easy to setup with Flickr! Do it!!

Ben cs6 will do water marks..but only a photo at a time. On of the other nice things about LR. It'll watermark everything in batch exports.

LR I think is essential for organization and water marks. I know once I get if ever photoshop ill still use or as my sorting and organizing program and finalization.

really? nosie appears in blacks more then anything else..haha

and yea check it out. Really is nice how the work flow works for sorting and such.

But PS will do watermarks. Just have to do it one at a time.

yea i use a low a iso as possible. HDR helps too.

You can also adjust Luminance to take out a lot of noise too. But if you push it too much, stuff looks cartoonish.

Converting to B&W always cleans up noise a little for me as well.

Here is a color shot from today. We were saying goodbye to family before they hit the road and of course the kids found the money stealing room ha

    Those are both awesome.

As for my watermark I just watermark individually in PS since I made a brush preset, I batch convert to sRGB for web since LR uses thes the prophoto color profile which a lot of the colors web can't pick up. I will say watermarking is quite a pain in the butt.

Here's some photos I finally got around to from when I visited WA back in September.

What do any of you use for time lapses? I don't have a program so I've been letting this camera do it in camera but I'd like to do the same when I give it back and am left with my Nikon.

Here's my runner up for the challenge thread. It is a round about, and I wish I were able to get further away, and above it, but no such luck. Its a better picture than my submission, but doesn't fit the challenge like the other one does.

Usually people have remotes that do it or magic lantern. Or nice Dolly's.

What I want to know is what people use to edit them into a movie well

i use an intervelometer, which was 15 bucks on Amazon and it works like a charm. or i use the tb3 black or the mx2 controller. how i put them together is through ps, very simple an effective. but i have been switching over to premiere pro to do all my timelapse projects and effects. i would say premiere pro is the best way to go about making timelapses.
    premiere pro.

Yeah I will definitely let you know as soon as I hear back. No, juvenile mallards don't have a dark head like that, and if you google mallard hybrids you get a LOT of results, so there's a lot of hybridization with all sorts of combinations, which is odd, but fun to try to pick out the parents.

Haha, yeah I know what you mean with the finches! Once I order the full LR I'll post up some of my other bird pictures that I took with my 400. I've got like two great ones and a bunch of ones with sticks in the way or so-so body position or just sticks...

Yeah Those were some AWESOME hummingbird shots! I'm amazed you took those with a 50mm, but that's pretty much what you do for great bird shots if you don't have a super telephoto, wait for them to get used to you.

And I took a brief glance at the link you posted about bird photography. SO much info! Gotta start reading through that, thanks!

Hey, it worked! haha I've never posted from Flickr before. Now I can quit uploading them through the dumb TW image uploader with all that nasty compression. For a young guy I sure am a derp with technology haha should have done this long ago.
