I leave hoods on all my Nikon glass. about 15% for flares and 85% because I carry that sucker everywhere over my shoulder and have banged the lens hoods quite a few times. I can't imagine if it had been the lens glass each time ha

Yeah, I've kept the uv filter on since I got it. I already have one scratch on the actual glass on my lens.... :(

The polarizer looks cool outside and I'll definitely start using the hood.

I just found out I can stack them on top of each other. I'm going to play around with the 4 macros haha

I think just from posting that one thing y'all have gotten me wanting to get back into this again! :D

This poor guy is always drinking alone, always tries to talk to the employees but they're working so they can't sit and listen to his stories. I never know what to do. Dude doesn't want charity attention from some kid, but he is obviously down as well . . . lame world we live in.

I love to do landscapes, cityscapes and nightscapes as well as wildlife, but for me there is just no photograph that I take like a candid one with a person or people in it. Faces can tell way more for me than anything else. But I do love shooting other things a lot as well.

    That is amazing haha

Definitely looks like it was worth it!

I may just walk down some of the trails this weekend near the base to see if I can find anything interesting. Nature is probably the most beautiful thing you can take pictures of imo.

Brent, start doing the weekly challenge. That will help force you into shooting stuff you never normally would. Think everyone that has participated can attest to that.

on top of that just start shooting more in general and figuring out and trying new odds and ends.

I have one of two methods. 1.) Don't make eye contact, before or after the shot. Sometimes I look at the viewfinder and then over their shoulder and back and they think, Oh, he was taking a pic of something behind me, and then I keep on walking. 2.) the other method is to be polite and say hello, smile, make conversation, whatever. I am all about being polite to everyone and not pissing anyone off, but at the end of the day I'm after a candid shot and sometimes you have to shoot first and say hello second in order to get it. People have really cool stories too :)

    This is depressing.

    And so is this.
Hell, go buy him a beer, sit down for a little while. A few friends and I were eating a burger in a small diner after our morning coyote hunt a week or so ago, an old rancher sat down next to us. We ended up talking to him for about 4 hours. He had some awesome stories. Talked to him until almost dark, didnt get to afternoon hunt at all, but it was worth it to talk to him.
