Personally, i prefer to get the latest version when it's a product that i have never previously owned, i.e. not an upgrade from an older version, etc.

Unless it's a killer deal on the older version, ya know?

 

The 3 silver and the 2 are almost identical with respect to quality.

Personally, I would get the 3. If only for the case and flat lens port. Then of course, it's the current generation too.

 

why not a black 3+??? might as well get something that'll last a while..

 

Cause that's $400 probably. I love my Hero 3 black but it has some features that most will never use like the 4k setting. It is nice to have the 12 mp camera though. I believe the other main difference between the silver and black was the higher frame rate on the black in 1080p if it would be useful for you.

 

yea thats what id want..haha 120fps would be so fun to play with.

 

Then again the Hero 3 has the new case and will probably be the one getting all the new accessories for the lens. I'd probably go for the 3 or 3+ if you get one. The 3+ is also smaller than the 2 or the 3.

 

I have the hero 3 black and I shoot 720p120 all the time.

 

Thanks for the fast responses guys! The silver edition I was looking at is the Hero 3+ silver edition.

I can't see her putting that much into the black version since all I'll really be doing with it is trail rides and fishing trips. Nothing too major I don't guess. But in all honesty I'm a bit unsure of all the capabilities you can do with the GoPro

That being said, I personally was leaning towards the 3+ silver just for the fact It's the current edition.

 

Well i change that, I didn't realize there was a 3 and a 3+. From what I can tell of those is upgraded audio.

 

And a smaller size camera if that matters to you.

 

I mean it does…but I think I would live with the 10 megapixels.

 

The smaller they get the smaller the % really is every year. lol

Anyone ever bought used stuff of B & H?

 

I am following a guy that liked some of my stuff, he is from Finland I think, his stuff is amazing.

 

I have bought used stuff from them. They are reliable and have a great return policy if you end up not liking whatever you get.

 

Cool they have a 60d for 489.

 

They're one of the biggest retailers of camera gear in the world as far as I know haha I've bought new, used and returned things with them and trust B&H, as do a whole lot of professionals it seems. I'd trust it.

 

I just go into the store. It rules. Both b&h and adorama

 

What's the rating on it for that price?
