    Warning....photo learning content!

Zack Arias has launched a new learning website called DEDPXL. Check it out.

Another dude who does some great portrait work is Joey Lawrence, Joey L. He offers some tutes too.

Both guys do a lot of work with lighting and it's always nice to see how they work-worth checking out.

I've been anticipating DEDPXL for a while, and I'm thinking I may pick up his One Light 2.0 here soon.

I checked it out and you can pre-order it so I just went ahead and did it. I've only ever done off camera lighting once and I don't remember a thing so I'd like to learn.

Sucks that it's a download though haha call me behind the times but I like a good, solid copy around the house when I buy things. For my age I'm quite poor with computers and such.

Probably an obvious question, but . . .

Any of you young guys (sorry old tied down farts :D) thinking about doing anything big between college and real life (photography related)?

I'm really feeling the walls of boring old people life closing in ha When I get out of college I won't have much but clothes, truck and random "things." I'm highly considering some sort of photographic tirade around the globe. Or at least to a country or two. I just wouldn't want it to be for not. Like just because I want to see places. I'm kind of looking for something where I can go and help people, and document it all while I'm at it with my camera, but actually go somewhere semi-long term, like India or S. America or something, and contribute to helping some people. Ha I don't know. Just wondering if anyone else is feeling the itch to do more with their photos and get out and stretch the legs before the long haul of societal derpness.

Not photog related exactly, but I'll be visiting my girlfriend in Ecuador while she's in peace corps before going to grad school. Then I have no idea between grad school and real life, but that's like 6 years minimum down the line, so I've got time :p

Sounds like you could do peace corps, if you want to help people for a long period of time. It's pretty intense and they'll send you to a place that needs someone like you (country preference based, not volunteer preference based, if that makes sense), but that might be of interest. :notsure:

If you make it to Ecuador in the next year and a half let me know, I may be down there, too

Just come live with me! Plenty of room to park another sweet reg cab!

Honestly, if I did anything like that I would stay in America. I am all for people traveling and seeing the world. It opens the mind to what really matters :). When it comes to helping others...well my money and time will stay here. Plenty of those in need, just wait for the next natural disaster and help away!

I did the Marine Corps. I'm not really down for any more Corps of any type ha I'm looking to go light and get some good photos. Just tossing ideas and dreams around at this point, but the idea of being settled down (or stuck) in one place for the rest of my life is not okay with me at all yet ha

I almost did. Not even kidding. I was waiting for delivery of a motorcycle that never came (Good 'ol South Dakota) and was going to just go. Pack up and follow the weather wherever I wanted. Then I didn't . . . and I still have the itch haha I love taking photos and I feel like I can't because I'm doing this mundane garbage day in and day out like a good dog who follows the system and does what it's told haha

Someone on here has to have traveled for a photography trip . . .
