I have the Business account with the intent of selling photos

I'm setting up to start selling prints at local craft shows.

I've been really impressed with SmugMug. I've gotten 10x the exposure than I did with Flickr.

I took another paying shoot for my school but I don't know if it's worth shooting events for them much longer after this one ha doesn't pay much and it's just activities and sports that don't interest me ha

If I ever go bigger I'll be on smugmug. I have no problem with Flickr yet

Im good with flickr. Was a pro member until they upped the storage space, so now Im good with it. Especially since I hadnt been shooting for a while. Had I been current, or being paid to shoot, I would have my own site. Im fine with flickr.

I'll vote one for Smugmug, I've been using them for a few years. About a year ago they revamped the site customization features and added some nice options. I've got the pro version so that I can sell prints directly through the site, and so I can use a custom URL that I bought through Google (no more capturecophotography.smugmug.com BS).

I like it, but I still use Flikr (when I can remember, which is about never), and for most of the hosting to post on forums/share with folks, I just use PicasaWeb.

I like what you can do to customize Smugmug, you can do a hell of a lot.

You have to click the little thumb-tack shaped icon in the "share" popup. Then it'll give you some options. It doesn't do the text after the image anymore, though.

Also, you can click on the text that says the quality and it will come up with a drop down menu so you can choose the quality to display. It's not as straightforward as it used to be...

I still have to do the whole switching over to a yahoo account thing. It keeps asking me and I keep saying I'll do it later ha

On a side note. That stuff should arrive on Wednesday for your folks :D

I'll have to take a minute this weekend and check out the new layout on Flickr so I don't ask newb questions like, how do I share my photos now, haha

My Nikon has a hard time with the teleconvertor, but it seems to AF just fine with the aperture stopped down.

Or do you mean the max aperture of the lens needs to be 5.6 or larger, and it will work down to 22+?
In that case, similar with mine.
Mine will AF just fine on any of my lenses including the 200-500 (f/5-6.3).
The TC supposedly bumps it two stops, but seems to be more than 7-8.3... I think the info screen reported 10 at 500mm.

    What haven’t I changed?
Yep. The only thing that matters to the autofocus sensor is the max aperture and having enough contrast to determine focus. When you're looking through the viewfinder, the lens is at its max aperture and that's also when the camera takes its focus reading. When you press the shutter release, that's when the camera stops the lens down to whatever you specified and takes the photo. Immediately after the shutter closes, the lens is opened back up to max aperture again, and the camera can adjust focus before taking the next shot if in a burst.

I like the result in this one. What lens? I clicked on the EXIF, but it wasn't listed. Not sure if that's because the new Flickr layout is botching the EXIF or if lens was just missing from your EXIF upload.

Was in the middle of teaching my son how to change the spark plugs and clean the MAF sensor and throttle body in his Tacoma, otherwise I would've high-tailed it to a better location than the driveway to capture this fast growing storm.
