Thanks! And so are yours, when I was mentioning color yours just pop!

Thanks Ben, it has been a long 2 months to figure out what I have so far and you have helped me a lot, much appreciated. And many others, but when some people post on here I listen a little harder LOL.

    I started out with the 16-50 f/2.8

And as usual experimented with different settings. Then the thought hit me how to "improve" on the situation so I put on the 300 w/tc and waited for a line focusing on the last guy out ice fishing and figured f/11 would also include the boat being close to focus when the next one came by yet the right DOF for the overall look I desired. Proves even a blind squirrel can get a lucky nut once in awhile ;)

Interesting, thanks for the insight Rich.

    Woot!

$90 for the Vello BG-N11 and the D7100 reads it as a $236 Nikon MB-D15 and properly selects the battery as requested in the menus.

I don't know if it will work properly with aftermarket batteries... the "Green Extreme" EN-EL15 that was included with my D7100 kit is still backordered, so for now I just have the three genuine Nikon batteries.
IR remote would be nice, but I can always buy one that plugs into the remote trigger port and share it with my wife and her D3100.

I wish I would have known. I just got rid of two extra EN-EL15 batteries and a remote specifically for the D7100.

That said. I'm throwing a feeler out. I have a few Nikon Lenses for sale. I'm cleaning out the stable so to speak ha

Let me know if anyone is interested in a Nikon(DX) 10-24, or 35/1.8G

I've already got a wired Nikon remote, plus a Vello wired interval timer (that I no longer need with the D7100 unless I want timed exposures over 30 seconds).

I was after the battery grip to allow for time-lapse runs that need more than one battery.
Fresh battery in the main body, set the camera to draw down the grip battery first, that allows the grip battery to be changed without removing the camera from the mount.

I knew the "Green Extreme" was backordered when I bought the camera so I bought the two spare Nikon batteries when I bought the kit.

Just that I saw some of the D3100 battery grips had the IR remote option... I don't see it on the D7100 grips.

Picture of the rig you used to take that?

Was it an underwater housing, acrylic box, or did you sacrifice a body for the cause?

Doesn't the D7000/7100 have the IR built in to the camera?

Dang. Oh well. I was doing someone a favor and throwing them in with some other stuff. Sorry about that though ha I should have said something.

Before I give them away, I have a Crumpler 5MDH bag, and Industry Disgrace strap that I'm not using anymore (got a different bag). And a Ruggard backpack that came with the D7100 that I don't use. Y'all can make an offer if you want any of that kind of little stuff ha I'm trying to reduce the clutter here.

    Not directly.
It is compatible with the WU-1a WiFi unit ($50), which allows for smartphone remote control.

It has commander mode built in for the flash, so you don't need the SU800
