What sucks is when you pull out your camera to take an awesome shot just to realize you left your memory card in the computer

I have done this. I now keep an extra in each vehicle, and my pack.

I keep 6 cards in a card wallet and 2 floating spares hidden in my camera bag and one in my glove compartment.

Lesson learned back when i was shooting for tabloids.

i had 5.3 and went back to 5.2 as my computer kept crashing with 5.3...

i just may try 5.4 though as it has support for use on iPad from what i hear...

quick preview edits out on location could prove to be convenient without bringing an edit station...

I read something that implied this but also said it required a subscription. When I installed 5.4, there was a splash screen for it-I didn't explore it.

Yup they're doing LR Mobile and it will be coming for iPhone as well.

From my very basic and yet to research understanding it is basically like being able to work on photos "offline" in LR5.3 so you see what you're doing to the photo and then when you sync it back up to your main workstation those edits will be applied to the actual cached photos stored on LR . . . or something like that. Either way it should be awesome for those who want to tether and shoot for clients and all that, as well as those who want to travel super light and then worry about bigger stuff when they get home.

I've read a little more and I think I'm actually off on the having to link it when you get home kind of thing. Sounds like it will be more independent if need be and "buying" is expected ha

I'll wait and see what they come up with for your phone since I don't have an iPad but it seems helpful for light packers and whatnot.

    Too long to list :D
I've got plenty of SDHC's all over the place, but the 20D, 50D, and 7D all take CF :/ and the UDMA 7 Lexars are kinda pricey so I have one in the 50 and one in the 7, and one in each of my two camera bags. Old crappy PNY 2GB in my truck and my backpack. Not a good card at all, but better than no card :)

When you open LR does it prompt you to download 5.4 or what?

nice Chaz! That shot of him throwing up the peace sign cracked me up!

My new tripod showed up yesterday... I broke down and got a decent one. MeFoto globetrotter. Very stout and perfect size. Love the ball head design and it locks up tighter than a nuns nanny :D. Gonna love this thing I think. Also, one of the legs spins off and you can mount the head on it as a monopod, sweet.
