Bought a Hoya pro1 ND16 neutral density filter yesterday. Couple of test shots from 2PM.

I actually wanted the Lee Big Stopper (10 stops) but there's about a 3 month wait for it.

B+W 10 stop here. I use step rings to make it more useful.

    You saw that eh? lol

There's some awesome work on that website! I'm going to North Georgia to take waterfall pics this weekend and do a little fishing. Hope to get most of my pics early AM and late PM. Fish during the day.

My local shop didn't have any 10 stop filters. They also don't carry step rings. So I'm stopping by Showcase photo in Atlanta on my way north to get one. They have everything you could possible want for photo or video. I'll probably throw my polarizer on top to bring it to 6 stops.

I buy all my filters in 77mm so I don't have to buy multiples too.

Yeah the lee system is a good idea but I'll probably get a BW 10 stop in 77mm like you do and get step rings. So much easier than getting all seperate filters

10 stop seems to be difficult to find locally. Even the local pro store didn't have it in stock-and they generally have a good selection.

The Lee is much nicer than screw filters. I have used them sans the holder once and a while. That's a pretty handy way to try something. I don't like the lack of availability tho.

I agree. I have used the Cokin system in the past and prefer the square filters. Especially when using graduated filters. I like that Lee makes them in 4x6 too.

I use the 4x6's. I started with the Cokin but felt there was sufficient light leak from the filter holder's edges that I switched to the Lee. It's made a difference in some lighting conditions (where the sun comes from the side and could reflect off the inside of the filter). Otherwise, it's just more expensive :D

Do you guys know why some of the pictures I have in my library in LR, when I try to edit or export them it says "folder could not be found"? It wont let me do anything but look at them.

Where ever the original source file is, it got deleted or something. I went through and cleaned up my hard drive once and came back and realized I deleted something I shouldn't have. All my previous photos up to that point said the same thing. Have you moved or deleted anything recently? Perhaps they're on your external HD and it's not plugged in?

I'm running LR4 and today I went to import some pics and all it was showing was my hard drive and wouldn't expand to my folders on the drive. I managed to get to the folder I wanted from previous imports but was kinda weird it did that.

^^This one looks more like film to me.

There are some plugins for LR that mimic film. You can basically pick the film you want it to look like and choose that setting. They were pretty expensive if I remember right.

You could try and repair the database; "Library->Find All Missing Photos".

I'm just too busy to get out and shoot with school, so each time I need a break between papers I've challenged myself to re-edit one photo to try and look film-esque. Seeing as I have very little experience with film it's really just me clearing my head between papers haha BUT it's working and it has been fun.

I don't think I could pay a bunch of money for presets. A little money, sure, if they're good ones that I can't replicate, but not a lot.
