Jacob, shot one is outstanding.

Josh, shot four is very nice. Glad your putting that new cam to use, great early stuff!

 

Pic of the clouds. The colors were unreal. Hard to capture them all in a picture.

 

Beauty. Really cool cloud formation and very cool colors.

 

What did you get?

 

Start with automatic then try shutter priority followed by aperture priority modes. The first will let you take pictures. The second will give you an idea what the effect of changing shutter and aperture have.

You can get a decent idea of what's going on from this thread. It'll be a tiny bit harder to get to the good stuff. There are a bunch of camera courses available on the web. My suggestion is first go try the camera and get an understanding of how the controls work-familiarity is good-for basic understanding. Then go look for a free online course

I'm doing some research on some ND and GND filters. I came across LEE filters and they have some great reviews. Does anybody here have experience with them?

 

Yes.

Lee manufactures a pretty good system. Especially the holder.

 

They make really good stuff. I know the big stopper (10 stop) has been hard to get lately. Don't know if they finally got that sorted out or not. I know it is made of glass and breaks if dropped. At $150 a piece they are pretty delicate. They do however make awesome pics.

 

I'll drop a few from this weekend.

Top of Humphreys Peak in Arizona.

 

Nabbed this pano from a rock outcropping on Eagle Peak in Mt Rainier National Park while camping there over the Fourth of July weekend with my family. This is 7 shots stitched together. More available here

 

Best I've used IMO, friend of mine has one it's very solid but don't drop the filters. Very delicate expensive glass haha.
