yea those last shots you did were at 12800 though haha no WAY could i do that.

most my star shots are 30 sec at 1250. It'll do 2500 good but i don't love it. Thats about as high as i can go before its just too noisy. It works good for stacking too since stacking decreases noise to begin with.

i also don't have a lens that will do 2.8 other then my 50mm which isn't wide enough most the time for what i want.

Most my stuff is at f4 to keep the sky dark as possible but i will play with it more. My biggest problem is smog here

Concept is good. You need to fix the lighting. Maybe process this using some layer/luminosity masks and blend it?

I think you did a good job on it. I'm new to that stuff too, as I have been shooting my wife. What was your lighting set up for this?

Here is one I did last week of my wife. [IMG]IMG_4084 by Captures by Colin, on Flickr

Congrats to you and your wife! That's a really creative shot. I really need to start writing down the shots I wanna do during a shoot because once I start, all my ideas go out my head. Then I'm left struggling to find ideas. I just used the x100s and one Canon 430exII with some triggers. Flash was left side of the camera shooting down and through an umbrella.

My wife wanted me to take some photos of her last night for some linkedin deal. I took them, but I didn't want to. It reminded me why I have never wanted to take pictures of people.
I am entering a few of my shots into the county fair photography contest this year. They are making me enter into the "professional" category because I have sold prints and made supplemental income. I'm going to get my butt kicked.

7D with 15k shutter count with a 24-105L for $1250? Should I even be debating this?

You can pick up a brand new 7d for 1,299 on Amazon. But it's only a 18-135 or 28-135. Not L

uhhh..... t4r... still looking. Kind of want a FJ60 now. This purchase would be a setback in the vehicle fund.

Good deal with the glass. But I'd still be looking for a 6d
