That's awesome! Arkansas is a beautiful place, I'm lucky to call it home.

I haven't made it to Hemmed-In Hollow yet, but it is quite a sight from pictures I've seen! Good captures!

I was hoping it wouldn't be that far away. I go hunting in Stuttgart every year and was hoping I might be able to go there and get some photos next January. Won't be making a side trip that far though. Thanks!

Yes it is! I'm reluctant to let it go but I just don't use my equipment that much anymore. Theres too much invested to let it sit around and It's a shame to let a lens like this sit and collect dust :anonymous:

I have a bunch of equipment Ill probably be posting in the next week or so. Not sure how much interest there will be on here? But I'll post it anyways

I hear the Lee Filters are awesome but I just don't like the idea of having a holder/filter combo. Seems like it would be too much of a hassle for the kind of areas I'm usually in.

B+W and Hoya make some nice screw on ones!

Not sure what hassle it would be? I've used mine in in a bunch of places; like the side of a hill or on hikes, etc. I like having one filter set for several different lens sizes.

B+W would be my route if I go screw on. They are optically better than Hoya.

That's what I was thinking. Maybe the ease of encasing the filter and holder as to not use it anymore?

However, you can easily have one set of screw on filters for all your lenses. Buy them all in 77 or 82mm diameter (get 82 if you have even one lens in that diameter). And get step rings for each lens which you can buy as a set or individually for pretty cheap really.

Graduated Neutral Density. Although you can get screw-on grads, you can't adjust them vertically or horizontally.

But not all filters need to be square/Lee.

That's what I was thinking. Screwing on and off filters is a pain. You can leave the adaptor rings on your wide angle lens and snap the filter holder on and off in a second. You can still put on lens caps with the adaptor in place.

I don't have a wide variety of lenses that I use for landscape photography anyway so not sure why that would be a big concern for me.

If I bushwhack to a waterfall I'm not carrying a case full of different lenses...

I don't usually interchange my filters once I'm out where I wanna be for the time. I just prefer the screw on filter and a step up ring if I wanna use it on other lenses.

There's nothing wrong with screw on filters. You're just not gonna get a graduated filter using them. And if you do, you won't be able to make any adjustment as to where that grad starts/stops.

You can rotate it once it's threaded. But that's not exactly an optimal method.

I was referring to solid nd filters anyway lol my bad.

Yes I agree square grad nd filters are much better in that case.

Fort Griffin, build circa 1860 - almost as old as some of those stars in the sky. ;)
