Videos take forever to get right. I have a slider and shit too and i took roughly 5 total hours to get a 2 minute video the way I wanted it.

When it comes to pricing come up with a package deal. X amount of shoot time at desired location or your specified location, Y amount of editing time, Z number of edited photos on a flash drive. Plus travel. I used to give people 30 edited photos without watermarks for personal use and the same 30 with watermarks on a 1GB Sandisk. Full size JPEG. $50 within 15-20 miles or at my locations. $60 beyond 20 miles and depending if I went out of state or into NYC the price went up. Then if they wanted video as well, the price went up even more.

A lot of people weren't happy with my price but were paying $100 to some rookie with a kit lens on a cheap camera using editing freeware to shoot their car in a parking lot and got a bullshit final product.

Video editing is definitely a time consumer. I probably spent about 3-4 hours on just a short 1 minute video. Granted, a lot of that was due to a garbage PC. This summer I plan to get a laptop strictly for editing photo and video so I can work a little bit more smoothly. I've been eyeing some 3 axis gimbals too that I may jump on when the funds are right.

I think that pricing is very fair though. I've been thinking of little package deals similar to that and trying to put a price on my skill level. I'm happy I've been able to shoot a lot of these cars lately because I think it's helped me break some habits I was stuck in. It puts a bit more pressure on me to make sure the outcome is something everyone is happy with. Even photos from a month or two ago I look back on and think "wtf was I doing".

The whole "Rookie charging for photos" discussion was brought up on another forum I'm on  I've seen a handful of those on Instagram. "Automotive photographer - DM for shoots" and their entire feed is mediocre iPhone looking photos. But hey more power to them I guess

I never had to use a high ISO on my 5Dmk3 until last weekend at my niece's gymnastics event. The venue did not have all their working lights so it was really dark. Bumped it up to 5000 ISO.

It's been a little while since I've been involved in the photography game so I'm a bit rusty but would love to hear everyone's opinions and/or suggestions

The transition from the darkened areas at the top and bottom of the photo to the center are a little abrupt for my taste but overall I like it

Thanks for the insight, I like the contrast is applies but I do see you're point that it is a bit abrupt

I like the contrast too with the very dark portions top and bottom. I would have just had the blending region between the darkened areas and undarkened areas larger so the transition wasn't so apparent.

The light is a bit uneven. Especially at the cab and end of the bed. When you look at the picture, your eye is immediately drawn to the bright area and not to the truck.

I like where you're trying to go with the shot.

All the same "rules" apply. The tricks you add are all related to how your camera works and what its strengths are. Find some pics you like and copy the composition.
