My boy and I have started taking pictures together. He is 5 and likes to use our phones so I showed him how to use an actual camera and took him around the house. Next day he wanted to do it again so we went to a park up the street. I have not uploaded any of his yet but he has some good ones. These are some of my pictures from our outings.

I think its great that you're showing him how to use a camera. Too many people these days go straight to their phone. I'm guilty of it. Great work. Keep it up. I wish I got started at that age even with film. I got lazy later on and found the phone much too convenient : |

I like it. Good work. I keep forgetting to look at that thread... bugs and birds are the most challenging subjects.. alot of waiting and tuning your skills...reminds me that it's time to chase em'.

Good ol' JD 60 enjoying some R&R after a short days work. Tried my hand at some longer exposure. Was hoping for some star trails but didn't wait long enough and got impatient.

 

@FlintHillBilly those lizards are called Green Anole. They change from green to brown. The males have that red throat to attract the ladies. My yard is covered in them and wish I had more to keep more bugs away.

 

Here are some that my son took while we were out. This was his first time using an actual camera. I still have a lot to teach him but for right now I want him to just get comfortable taking pictures. He has a great eye and notices more than I do. Plus seeing his perspective on things is awesome.

What do you guys think of the canon g7x? It's on sale at Best Buy so I'm considering getting it to keep in my bag that I take to work. I was messing with it and the controls were surprisingly friendly.

Ive been thinking of waiting for the Nikon dl to come out but the g7x is about $100 cheaper right now

I was kinda looking for something to do the same. I was looking at the g5x yesterday. Little bigger but looks like a decent camera? Going to do some research and read some reviews on them. I know the g16 and and 15 are good and those can be had for really cheap too!

Ahh lucky you. Most I've stumbled upon is the "horned toad" a bit down south of me. Thought they were pretty dang cool.

While I love older cameras.... You should include the shutter count on the sale. People gonna ask.

Got volunteered for a 5k/10k today. Task was to take photos of the event and finishers, people in general, not my forte due to inexperience. Anyhow, my fav non-participate out of all the photos - the mascot.

Dalworthington Gardens. Its a small town surrounded by Arlington. Its a neat little town since all of houses are unique and a lot have horses or livestock.
