    Birds are tough. They move and they're smaller than the background usually and that makes exposure a tough one. I think you did ok on these.

    There's a iPhone app that you can use to diagram lighting setups. This reminds me of that--funny stuff!

    Once you seriously shoot with 2.8 or higher....nothing else satisfies.

    considering.....not really. i would rather pay a little bit more and get a 70-200 2.8... 300 f4 is only good if youre shooting in bright, bright daylight.

    yeah i would get that if i was shooting sports(soccer, football ect) only.

    What's nice with a 300f/2.8 is not just that it's fast but that adding a TC still keeps you in the ballpark for low light. Especially with great high ISO performance of today's cameras.
