older Mercedes interiors are top quality materials, too. I have a couple early 90s Benzes, none of them have ANY cracks in the dashboards, the leather or vinyl seating still looks new, and the cars are just tight, without any rattles or rumbles, they ride over awful bad roads like they are on rails.

    For you Photo-Dudes...

If you havn't heard I've have been reaching out TW members (Mainly here in Phoenix, but also a few people in Colorado and on the east coast) to see if anyone would be interested in some hard military-grade plastic cases/boxes for camping gear, tools, recovery equipment, etc... I thought you guys especially might be into this opportunity for your photo gear. For months now, I've asked for TW members to send me their desired specs (preferred brands if any, color preferences, size restrictions, dimensions, wheels or no wheels, and anything else, etc). Once I have enough people who are interested (usually takes a week or two) and have established what each person is looking for, I will check out my local resources (mainly technology companies) and see if I can find anything that suites each persons needs. I can find these in used condition for a fraction of the price new - and I can ship!

    I've found the following brands:

-Pelican (2975s, 1550s, and 1650s are popular and easy for me to find. I can also find slightly smaller ones as well. I do not ever find gun/rifle cases)
    -Pelican-Hardigg
-Hardigg (Which are what my personal ones are, but harder to find)
-ECS (very hard to find in practical sizes)
-SKB (Usually rather expensive, but usually practically new!)

Color wise, most of the cases I find are black or dark army green. Occasionally I'll find grey ones, and rarely do I find tan ones.

I've seen all sorts of sizes/dimensions, so if you want something specific in that regard let me know, but giving me a range is really helpful!

As for pricing... One of the reasons I'm making the list of interested buyers every couple weeks is that often times I can get a good discount on the cases if I buy them in bulk. Usually the prices can range from $80-$140 each depending on the case (mainly size dependent). Shipping has ranged from $30-50 a case so far... Again, These are all USED cases but finding functional ones in good condition isn't a problem. Almost all of which are weatherproof and some still have their pressure release valves in working order (which is nice if you are changing elevations often). I personally double check all hinges, clasps, seals, etc before I buy anything. Finding foam inserts (precut) is usually not a problem.

Sound good? Shoot me a PM!

Anyone use Fstop bags? Just ordered a mountain series for hiking (cause I don't already own enough bags :p) They have different size Internal camera units so you can change the ratio of camera gear to hiking gear. Pretty awesome design! I hear they have poor costumer service which is there biggest downfall though.

I've had a Loka for a long time. I love the bag. Took a while (and a few phone calls to the boss man for some questions) to get but that was back in the early days of F-Stop Gear. When this one wears out, I'd consider getting another-been one of the most comfortable bags to carry. I have read a number of comments about their customer service-and some about giving products away at shows vs sending product to those who ordered early-not sure what to think about that.

I've been using the medium ICU. I do have a large but never used it.

I have been searching a long time for a bag that would fit my needs and I think this one is going to do the trick! I ordered the new 80L Shinn and should allow me to carry lots of gear or just some gear and then camping equipment for extended trips. The fact that you can change out different size ICUs to customize to your specific needs is a pretty good setup! I read that the suspension was really comfortable! If I like this one I might consider another smaller one like the Loka and then sell off all my other bags!

So the ICU is the dividers that hold your photo gear? Does this bag come with one or do you have to buy it separate of that price and that's the bag only for $429?

The ICU is like a bag within a bag. You buy separately.
