    I found my mom's old Vivitar flash and practiced with it. I don't know anything about flash. Its an on camera flash all I know is I put batteries in it turned it on and took pictures it still seemed to work pretty well. How did it do? Critique please, when to use when not to use, cause like I said I really don't know anything about them.

    I didn't have a whole lot to work with, family sitting around the table. Ill have to to try and set up some shots where they would be good. I was just toying around with it.

    A question I have though, when do I use it and when don't I?

    Using off-camera flash in a daylight makes wonders! Anytime if you have a change but off the cammy

    Off camera is best. You want to use it to create shadow as well.

    bought the Nikon 85mm 1.8 NEW for $300! woop woop! should be here saturday! i cant WAIT.

    And i don't know if i told anyone but i dropped my 14-24mm 2.8 a few weeks ago and totally messed up the zoom (as in it doesnt zoom anymore) BUT luckily i got the protection plan, and it was covered, so i sent it in and it is being repaired, and hopefully i can get it back soon. Because DAMN SON i effing miss that thing! all i have is a 50mm 1.4 and a 70-300mm with me :(

    Yeah I've heard ya'll say off camera flash is the best. I would love to have some off camera flash. So even in daylight flash is used regularly.

    Uh huh...thats awesome. Good visual way of explaining. That video was helpful. Lighting im sure is expensive like everything else is. Is there a cheaper way to get a similar effect?
