While I was out getting aerial footage today I took this pic, edited it with Picasa and I'm really happy with it, I like the "watercolors" look.

Pulled the trigger on a new lens the other day after having just the kit lens for about a year. Decided to go with the Nikon 35mm prime lens as I'm partial to sunsets and low light photos. Sunset this evening was pretty grayed out and the spot I walked to didn't produce anything of interest. Hiked back to the truck and snapped a couple photos before bailing. Really happy with the lens, can't say the same about the weather....

It's a little "boring" but I really like this picture, Geneva Switzerland 2013.
I used filtered B&W to get the rocks to pop a little, but unfortunately the color shows through some at the mountains.

Seems like you're doing most still life and not much action, a full frame would be fine for your type of work. Considering you only habve a T3i and a few lenses, I'd make the switch to Sony over getting new glass. That A7ii is no joke, and I see a lot of pros (wedding photogs) have made the changeover already. Keep in mind that Sony glass will be $$ but that's where your quality comes from.

    Review for that camera:

Just reminding myself to actually post something to this thread. I scroll through it while I'm at work and forget to post anything when I get home. Now I'll get notifications, yay.

Thanks! I will look into that. I really like Sony's products I just am not sure I want to splurge just yet or not. Canon has served me well!

for those unsure on the concept, note that Sony's optics and cameras are a direct descendent of Minolta, whom they bought some years back.

    Great pics you guys.

I shoot cars, landscapes, birds, boats, sports, abandoned buildings or anything else that looks interesting. Just a hobby now. I posted this on the sailing thread (hope it’s ok to post it here too).
