Did an ice show a few weeks back - not sure if anybody has ever done figure skating or ice hockey indoors, but these rinks are dungeons in terms of their lighting! (Shitty backgrounds as well)

For white balance I’ll do a custom WB off of the ice but you’re right, the old cycling lights make for more work in post processing.

Anton Lorimer has produced another stunning film for SmugMug Films. This one is about Karen Hutton who's a great photographer. The series of films is pretty sweet. Covers so many photographers. Anton is a pretty cool dude too.

Hey all, looking to get a recommendation.... Been interested in getting a camera for a while now just for better quality photos and than iphone. Came across a Sony Nex-5N at a pawn shop and they're asking $159 for it with case and lens. Is that a good deal and worth purchasing? From what i've read its a nice mirror-less camera that takes "dslr like" photo at a fraction of the size. Any input/feedback would be greatly appreciated!

All depends on budget and what you want to shoot really. The a6xxx series gives you a lot more features than the NEX-5N. That 24mp sensor is great too. There aren't any bad cameras made in the last 5-7 years. Some just better and offer more features that you may or may not need.

Edit: just realized that is probably at the same pawn shot the other one is

Yup same pawn shop haha. I have both of them favorited on my CL account. As far as budget goes i'd say the price of the one you quoted would be the max but if i can find something cheaper then i'd love that too.

I would recommend the A6000 as it's a 24.3 Crop sensor camera and you should be able to grow with it as there are a ton of lens options for it and people are even getting good astro photos with it. I shoot Nikon FF but picked one up for my business used and pretty impressed with it, he features and the focusing system.

Thanks for the info! I originally stumbled across the A6000 and like everything I read about it and then came across the NEX for cheaper. Sounds like the extra cash is worth it though.

    Hi all. New here.

Are you guys shooting blood moon / lunar eclipse? I'd like to see a nice pic, but turns out my camera is down (both batteries deplated- haven't used it in ages)
