tough running conditions today, cold front moved in- high of 48 and it drizzled almost the entire day- tights, long sleeve shirt, windshirt, beanie and gloves- like running in the winter :)

was pretty muddy which made running tougher, also ended up pretty well soaked- got 10.2 miles in 2:03, probably going to take me an hour tomorrow to clean my shoes :D

Ran 14miles this morning in a little under 2 hours. A ton of wind in the Antelope Valley but felt accomplished, so that's a +

so i guess i'm running a half marathon this weekend...lol

my wife was already going to run it. i just didn't feel like it, but her running partner rolled her ankle pretty bad over the weekend and now isn't gonna run so my wife volunteered me to take her spot.

    thanks man

luckily i've been keeping up on my running for the most part. not distance wise, but my average pace is at least 1 min faster than my wife's so if i just stick with my wife and run at a slower pace i should be good

Ran a crazy 4.25 race on Saturday. It was crazy for it was both a scavenger hunt and a trail race. The objective was to find the books scattered and get the page that matched your bib.

I twisted my ankle at the last mile. Time was 58:22 and I was the second finisher.

My ankle hurt, so I didn't race the second one. It would have being a 10 Mile AT NIGHT race. Headlamps were required. Could not run on Sunday or Monday.

I still have some swelling, but it's not crazy.

I ran today, 4.7 trail miles on 52:08. Did not twist the ankle... ;)

We are having some seriously bad weather here in OK, so tomorrow I won't do the hill repeats, but I'll do Fartleks on the treadmill.

glad your healing so quickly :)

I've theorized w/ trail running my ankle (and supporting muscle/tissue) is much less prone to injury, early on I twisted my ankle a couple of times and was out close to a week at a shot- of late I've twisted them several more times- a couple pretty "good" ones and have had nothing more than a little soreness- that's my theory anyways :D

I don't know about "healing" as still a bit sore and swollen. But I do know when I can or can't run. Comes with experience! Hence took two days off.

Honestly, I was surprised as I thought I had pretty strong ankles by now. That and I have NO IDEA how it happened!

    I'll post a pic soon!

started my hill repeats today (they will be my Wed run)- have a hill that is 1 mile long and ~ 400' of gain, ran it twice at ~ 9 minute miles and then would kind of cruise down @ ~ 11 minute miles; not a long workout, but I could definitely feel it :)

next Wed I've got a much shorter (but steeper) hill I'm going to run multiple times (don't want to guess how many???)- it's about a mile in so I'll get a decent warmup and cool down, I'll alternate weeks- one week the longer hill, the next the shorter

I'm thinking of training for my 1st half marathon on September 15th, I ran 8 miles in 1 hour 21 minutes this last Sunday and my running friends have told me to consider it. All of my previous races are short distance 5K and 10k, I have been racing a lot this year, 5 races in the last 4 months.

Looking at 3 month training plans currently to see if I can find one that fits my schedule and my running style, I'm a steady plodder.

Your hump will be in the mile 11-12 while training. Ask me how I know... Good luck!

Did my 2.14 Fartleks tonight. Time was 20:00. Getting better at this! ;)

Oh no visible swelling and no serious discomfort on the ankle either!

You guys are savages with the distance. Did my 5km today in 29 mins.

Is there any advice for abdominal cramps? Why they happen, how to stop them? I had a showstopper today and had to walk for a bit

Honestly? Ya got to train more. More miles, faster and more often. I don't even remember the last time I had ab cramps!

What are your goals? Perhaps we can help!
