Has anyone else tried Inov8 shoes? Ive got a pair recently and love them.

I ran 28.25 last week. Not only trying to get to 36 for this week, but I also need to incorporate some speed work into the mix. Easier said than done...

Only had 20 miles the week before, so I'm WAY behind schedule...

which ones? I'm thinking about trying some 255's-I need something w/ a little more protection than the PureGrits for a couple of my mountain races

I tried on several shoes and have eliminated Cascadia 8's, Altra LonePeaks and Saucony Exodus- still in the running are Pearl Izumi N1's, hoping to try on a pair of LaSportiva Helios tomorrow, but also thinking about ordering a pair of Inov-8 255's no one carries them in Montana, so thinking about ordering a pair through roadrunner as they have a try it for 90 day return poilcy

REI has a 25% off sale, so I ordered a pair of Sportiva Helio's- nice thing about REI is if the shoes don't work I can send them back- even after running in them :)

had a very productive week, 42.4 miles- 16 miles (7/9) earlier in the week in the mountains w/ some good elevation gains/loss- a really good 16 mile long run on Saturday w/ lots of hills

going to have to get very friendly w/ hill work the next couple of months :D

I think it's just a matter of slowly adding miles, you definitely don't want to feel like digging your grave when you're done :D- I'd guess too fast of a pace, slow it down or even add some walking in

I started with a 3 mile loop (3 times a week), at first I walked more than half of it, slowly it went the other way and eventually I could run the entire route- I then started adding in a slightly longer run during the week and eventually added a couple of more days of running- this was done very slowly and methodically, running is definitely something you don't want to rush

I had a blast at the Burnet Spartan sprint. It was 4.4 miles with 27 obstacles and took me 1:44 to complete.

The pic is post run, post taking a dip in the lake to rinse off all the mud.

I think I could have knocked off 20 mins no problem, I waited around a lot for the guys I was running with. I wasnt going for time, more for fun but next year I will plan on destroying that time :D

Never done that race but looks intense.

New to this thread. I ran all 4 years in high school and I'm now going to be on scholarship in the fall for cross country. It's addictive.
