    ^ Good luck on Sat.

Im thinking of doing a duathlon at the end of the month. If I can get my bike fixed by then. I hit a pole at 23.5 mph on the local bike path. Broke my carbon handle bars,$$$ and crushed the bearings in the head set. Im fine just some road rash.

    Yea, an AR
Bummer man! Im finally taking my mtn bike out this afternoon for a ride. I havent ridden in about a month.

I ran the "run for your lives" zombie run last saturday. It was ok i guess...Not near as much fun or challenging as the Spartan.
Next year I am going to try for the Spartan "trifecta" medal. Run the 3 different races in a year, Sprint, Beast, and Super. The only bad thing is the closest "sprint" is in AZ

I hope to be 'sporting' that trifecta medal this coming Fall. I'm currently signed up for 4 Spartans (2 Sprints, 1 Super, and a Beast). Not bad for a 43 year old. :D

I've been hitting the trails pretty hard lately (with my Spartan Partner). Her and I found these great muddy trails with lots of hills and such - and a few nasty goat paths. It's a lot different than my standard run training on roads and paved trails. But I'm absolutely loving it. I feel my power increasing on each run. Looking to crush the first Sprint in Edmonton at the end of this month.

Hell yea man! i wish there was more public land around here to explore :(

We do have one 11 mile single track loop that is very well maintained and I guess its better than nothing!

Hopefully you have good upper body strength? If not start doing as many pullups as you can! It will help for sure

Oh yeah. A considerable amount of my training is Upper Body lately. My legs are already pretty powerful. I'm able to handle the running, climbing, and such. I do a lot on my own, but I also go to a weekly class at my best friend's gym. It's tailored Spartan Training. We run all kinds of obstacles in a timed fashon - while mixing in intense cardio. Basically we beat the piss out of ourselves for an hour and fifteen minutes. The idea is to make it harder than the actual race. I love every second of it!!
