i lied, just got a strava account and added you.. and got a garmin fenix 2 SE.
anyone looking for GPS watches this guy does a hell of a review (and totally convinced me) he also gives a discount code for clever training that he lists at the end of his review for 10% off (and free shipping)

    so long nike+!

Glad to see that the thread continued! :) I have run the Hot Chocolate 15K, and the Rock & Roll half in the past three weeks.

Both races, and a 5K down in Colorado Springs, were run with plantar fasciitis on the right foot. The last two, were run with two broken toes on the same foot. Times were SLOW, 1:33:15 for the 15K. 2:13.24 for the half.

I did learned that pulling your big toe, while doing a figure four does wonders for the plantar fasciitis.

None yet, but its about to get rolling.
I ran the downtown 10K in greenville sc. Finish with a PR of 41:34. Good for 8th overall out of 376 and won my age group.

My goal has been to run a marathon but I cant decide what kind of runner I want to be. I feel like I prolly can't be good at short and long distance.

Nice 10k. I tend to be more of a distance person but, this year I set 5k and 10k pr's training exclusively for distance with almost no real speed work at all.

Just got my Garmin Connect syncing with Strava, Erik Smith, add me if you like. Probably like Dave Moore, there might be a ton of Erik's to sift through, wasn't sure which Dave it was?

Yup that's me, and now I see you of course! I did a Garmin Connect transfer but very little transferred over from this past year. Oh well, maybe it will eventually.

you can be any kind of runner, or every kind of runner. fitness is fitness. when i was working up to long distance, i was also getting faster in my short game.

since i left the Marines, i hadnt run any 5ks or really anything shorter than a half with a few 8k's thrown in.. then i did a reverse tri (run bike swim) about two weeks after a 4hr LA marathon, and i was just below 6:30 min a mile for the 5k run during the tri.. good enough for third. it hurt like a sonofabitch, but i had somehow dropped my single mile time and 5k to all time records by just training for a marathon..

and by training for a marathon i mean running four or five halfs leading up to it.

if you enjoy running, just go do it! sign up for a bunch of different races, trail, half, 10k, 30k, hell 50k if you want! just enjoy it. experience the different distances at least once, and im sure youll be able to sort out which distance is your favorite. mine is the half... but im dreaming of 50milers
