I did in 2013, it sold out quickly last year and missed it. It's a very challenging course; the ascent (and descent) of Lone Peak makes it one of the most unique races in the US.

It's a really neat course that will not disappoint :)

not that i dont have to drive too far for ;)

i went into a 50k on these trails pretty blindly and ended with my first dnf after a few leg crushing downhills.

lucky for me, being deployed i have access to weights and plenty of time to run (and a stinkin POOL!). it should be a great time!

@ Bigsky, I watched a video about that race. Freaking crazy! I makes me want to do it,LOL. The elevation does worry me, coming from sea level.

swimming SUCKS! i used to be good at it. now 100m kicks my ass. i guess thats the point though, hopefully its a good way to loosen up my legs and improve my oxygen efficiency and lactic elimination.

i will be around in october, and will not be racing between the 50mi and the MCM. the rio del lago is nov 7? if im home, ill pace for sure! i should know by september at the latest, as soon as july though. shitty living three months at a time.

Ran my first race of the season Saturday, the Don't Fence Me In 30k (closer to a 35k). I was hoping for a sub four hour finish, I've run the course on my own training between 4:10 and 4:30, so I figured with a little luck I might slip in under 4. Unfortunately I got bad calve cramps with about 5 miles to go and the sub four slipped away. I finished in 4:05 which is still the quickest I've run it in Next year

Completed the Bob Marshall Open over Memorial Day weekend, it's an unofficial "race"- no fees, no signing up, no aid stations, no t-shirts. This is the fourth year of the event. Each year the start and finish change, this year started at Holland Lake (SW) and finished at Swift Reservoir (NE). There is no fixed route, each team decides what route(s) they will take and those routes often change mid course. Routes varied from 95-120 miles, the shortest route isn't always the quickest. This time of year you are guaranteed lots of snow (snow shoes not really optional), lots of blowdown (trail crews only operate June-August) and lots and lots of fords of swollen rivers and creeks. The Bob Marshall Complex is also home to the largest grizzly population in the lower 48- there wasn't a single drainage that we were in that didn't hold fresh grizzly sign.

Our route ended up being 110 miles (we added 8 miles to avoid a nasty ford across the South Fork of the Flathead), we were hoping for a sub 72 hour finish but a couple of nav errors and tough trail conditions (blowdown & mud) forced another night and we ended finishing in 77 hours- we were pretty happy with that as our first go.

    danke :)

Just ran the Pengelly Double Dip w/ a friend of mine, a 13-ish mile trail run in Missoula, w/ about 3000' of gain, it was also unseasonably warm which added to the pain. This was my third go and PR'd by about 10 minutes, so was pretty tickled. Calves cramped (again) as we started the final downhill stretch (so did my buddy's!)

Fortunately the finish line is right next to the Clark Fork River, so we soaked for about 20 minutes- cold, but good cold!

None yet, but its about to get rolling.
Dude you make me feel like such a slouch. I thought the elevation gain during the Asheville half last Saturday was bad. Only 850'

did a nice (nice in as pretty :D) 28 mile run/hike in the Crazy Mtns, was trying to come up w/ a 25-ish route and had to do some off trail (~ 5 miles) stuff to connect two trails, was steeper than I was hoping, but made it
