Yeah, so I’m a 76 mile drive to you, much closer as the crow flies…

    A double FU to Starlink.

You might want to consider scribbling out your details… just me being paranoid for you.

I put in a service address in PA and it gives the order now button, saying a limited number of people blah blah... Clicking on Order Now and the next page says mid-late 2021

I put in what they wanted for my address. Billing address wouldn't accept +4, shipping address accepted +4.. and it's the same as the billing address, so shouldn't be a prob. I'm sure they want whatever the cc company will accept, and then they need the +4 so they know when to send the gear to my specific location. At any rate, can't change them at this point.

Here is the Starlink Cable Routing Kit and Volcano Mount Kit.
I got the mount installed on the roof, the Dishy in the mount and I am online. I forgot to take a picture while I was up on the roof though. It was starting to sprinkle rain and I was a little stressed. Still need to attach cable to house.

I am really impressed with the WiFi signal coverage from the little monolith. I currently have it down in the basement in a corner and I have full signal two floors up in the furthest opposing corner and full coverage out in the garage!!

So one question I had was whether the dish swivels and the answer is “Yes” and using the volcano mount, it can be mounted up to a 40 degree angle. My roof, according to my iPhone angle app says 38 degrees where mounted.

I am still having an issue getting the WiFi component to update it’s firmware. That isn’t working currently.

That process ended up bricking my first router. It was a bit frustrating but the replacement they sent has been trouble free.

and if you click Speedtest you get this:

So far I am pleased but I do get some drops when using Zoom or Streaming, but it usually comes back in about 10 seconds.

Questions for those of you in possession and using Starlink-

Does the dish actively track the satellites?
If so, does it make noise? How fast does it move?

From what I've read online the Starlink dish is a phased array antenna so once it's pointed in the generally right direction the tracking is all done by electronically changing the direction of the radio wave beam.

Anyone have experience with Starlink in a rain storm? Does it lose signal? My Dish TV signal drops out every time we have much more than a light rain, but I think Starlink uses a different signal frequency.

So far, no degradation due to rain for my experience
