I’m considering dumping the solo eyebrow and pull up bar- doesn’t add much if anything :D

Pre-ordered last february and ended up cancelling. Just signed up with a 2 year contract with fixed wireless provider for 25 down and 5 up for $80/month and wondering if it's worth it to get back on the list for starlink again :annoyed:

It's over four times faster for $20 more a month. I'd say it's worth it.

My only reservation is the small little disruptions in service that people seem to have where it’ll lose internet connection for a few seconds and then bounce back.

I just did a speed test though over my iPhone and got download of 20, jitter of 70, and 37ms ping. (at a time where there’s probably a lot of people online) would starlink be an improvement over that?

Mine only rarely loses connection, maybe a couple seconds of dropped connection within a 24hr period. The speed test I just ran was 134mbps download, 16mbps upload and 35ms ping. Every couple days I'll play Call of Duty online and have no issues with it until I get tired of getting my shit pushed in by eight year old kids.

yeah that's one of the main games i play. just hopped off with ping bouncing from 45ms to well over 100ms and was definitely noticeable. Was your speed test hard wired or wifi?

These locals canceling pre-orders because they're not patient enough. Elon refunding India pre-orders. I can just hear my spot in line moving up.

When I first installed this spring I had about 5 minutes of downtime a day. Most of that was just a second here and there. Rarely did I even notice. If I did it was only long enough to say "shit" and then it was back.

A few months on and it's rare I lose anything more than a few seconds a day and most of those are likely a bird or a leaf or something.

If there's anyone in your area ask what they're seeing. I wouldn't even consider the downtime a con at all.
