I could get faster cable for slightly cheaper but the plans have data caps still up here. It’s gone up to 250GB (was only 40GB a few years ago) but that’s not enough most months. Other than that it’s Hughes Net which sucks or another small local wireless provider that is quite a bit more expensive and less reliable than my Starlink.

Going to look more serious at the star link mobile I just wish i knew if the real world application will work when I need to to.

I’d gladly give up this and go back to my $90 monthly payment…

This post is brought to you by Starlink Mini. I ended up changing my residential plan to the $90 rate and adding the mini plan for $30. So far the mini plan still shows up as able to be paused when not in use like the standard roam plan.

I ordered a USB-C PD to DC adapter off Amazon and can run it off my battery pack. It draws 18-30 watts so I could get about 30 hours of use with no recharging.

The Mini ran for 5 hours 41 minutes off my 40,000mah power bank with a 65w USB-C PD output. That averages out to 26wh draw.

Been wanting Starlink for a while, but the space and power requirements were a challenge.

As soon as Starlink mini was announced it was an instant buy for me. Now to decide if it's worth hard mounting or just keep it 100% mobile.

Yup! Just got that email. Curious about the "Costal" coverage and how far out that cover, bringing on a Cruise ship, fishing ect is an interesting concept

Same, I couldn’t find a definition on the website anywhere. It’s called coastal and territorial waters so I wonder they’re just using the international standard of 12nm.

I really would like a Starlink mini to take with me camping/traveling. The 50 bucks a month is pretty nice. Especially since it’s month-to-month. The initial $500 is kind of a big investment for me. If they go on sale or drop in price I’ll probably pick one up.
