Jonny I already got the FJ about 2 weeks ago lol. Thanks though! Been trying to get the fucking locker to engage but it really does not like me. I am going to pull the actuator off sometime this week and take a look. I got the FJ with 60,000 miles and unfortunately I don't think the previous owner ever used it.

Have you tried turning the wheel left & right as you're driving foward ?(after pushing the locker button)

and lets see some pics dammit!

** edit... does the locker work in 4 hi in stock configuration? I know it doesn't work in 2 hi.. I did the locker anytime mod and I am able to use the locker in 2 hi/4hi/4lo....can't remember the stock settings...

Yeah I tried that. Drove in a figure 8, threw it in reverse, etc but nothing worked. It keeps blinking at me lol and yeah I think it only works in 4LO stock but I can't get it to engage. I have cycled both the engine and the 4WD but nothing worked.

The wire you are supposed to cut, is it that white one with blue lines? The one that is shorter than all the other ones. And the only camera I have is the one on my phone but it decided to take a crap on me about a month ago and I don't want to pay to replace it haha I will try and get some off of my gf's phone.

Jonny, I think I figured out the rear light problem. I think its were we grounded it. I turned the lights on and went back there and jiggled that part and they came on

damn...think the crimp/eyelet is loose? lemme try to explain this.... can you wiggle the wire around in the metal part of the crimp?
if so...seems like an easy fix. pull the power wire before disconnecting the ground. re crimp it...re attach. hopefully that will fix it

My fj is brand new, just 7000 miles on it now, but i engage the locker ever few weeks just to make sure it works. Usually i just do 4 hi, stop, neutral, down to 4 lo drive forward about a foot, hit locker button and keep driving. You will hear a rather loud noise when it actually engages.

Wait what? :p So just as a "Hypothetical" situation, what would happen if you disconnect the ground first? haha jk. I probably wont touch it until I go home in a week where I have all the tools. If I have any questions I will hit you up. What are you up to this weekend? I am on VACATION!!!! 3 weeks off woo hoo
