12.5 is too wide of a tire for 7.5" rim. It is possible to get them on there, but its seriously stretching it. recommended minimum width for a 35 12.5 16 is 8". when you go down to a 33/34 at 12.5" wide it is likely to need even wider rim because you have less sidewall to stretch. This is nothing to do with the FJ just general tire/rim fitment.

This stuff really isn't specific to the FJ. Most of what will work on a Tacoma will work on an FJ. I've seen guys fit 33X12.50's on a Tacoma with a 3" lift too.

only thing to remember is that stock FJ rims are 4.5BS where second gen stock tacoma rims are 5.5" BS. So when buying aftermarket rims remember that 4.5"bs isnt going to gain you much width like they do on the tacoma and most aftermarket rims are 4.5"BS and this is why I chose to run spidertrax. I am still researching for a 3.5" BS that will fit.

A certain member on here is thinking about running 285/75/16's with the stock FJ all terrain 16" 5 spoke wheels. They have 4.5 backspace...so he should be fine right? as far as rubbing the stock uca's? He will be lifted a couple inches but his main concern is rubbing the uca.
My thoughts are: He wont need wheel spacers for anything but stance/looks. He will clear the UCA just fine.
    me wrongs? :p

Woot, another FJ in the family. So are you canning the Taco or what man? So I am thinking that I might throw the old spacer life from the Taco on the FJ for a temporary deal so I can throw some 285's on there.
