Toyota should have made the FJ a convertible to begin with. The only real reason anyone who isn't into off roading gets a Jeep is that its a convertible. The FJ drives far better...

Word. I wouldn't mind a convertible top. I loved driving my brothers Samurai with no top off road when he had it. The ride of a jeep just sucks to the point where I wouldn't even want to drive it everyday. Not to mention so underpowered with the v6 it can't get out of it's own way.

The new jeeps are getting a new motor.

more horsepower, more torque, and better fuel economy. The previous iron-block 3.8-liter V-6 put out 202 horsepower and 237 lb-ft; the all-aluminum Pentastar has 285 horses and 260 lb-ft. And, while the six-speed manual returns unchanged, the four-speed automatic has been ditched in favor of the Grand Cherokee's five-speed. All the rest of the major mechanical features (axles, suspension, steering, brakes), the body, dimensions, and structure are essentially carryover.

Thinks that is more than are tacos and fjs :)

That's good for jeep. I was rented a 2008 unlimited and it was way to slow and underpowered. That was one of the main reasons I went with the FJ and not the Jeeps. I could get used to a bad ride.
