The 3rd Gen bed height is 1” higher than the 2nd Gen. So if they base the measurements on a 2nd Gen it sits 1” higher on a 3rd Gen. But In this case their sample truck is a 3rd Gen so if they use those measurements it will sit 1” shorter on a 2nd Gen if that makes sense. The full prinsu rack will clear on a 3rd Gen but not clear on a 2nd Gen with a Vagabond.

For example. Say you put a 3rd Gen SnugTop canopy on a 2nd Gen. It will stick up 1” above the cab. If you put a 2nd Gen SnugTop canopy on a 3rd Gen it will sit 1” lower than the cab.

Makes sense and in a way that’s fine. I’d like it to sit lower anyway.

Haha hopefully everything is good and don’t need to. On the 3rd Gen the bottom of the overhang on the Super Pacific is 1.5” above the shark fin if that helps any.

After pulling off the snugtop my plastic side rails are warped and or crushed basically trash. So i will be fore sure swapping them out to metal before i pick up. 2D8FB275-ABF2-4102-8DDB-4A65E6832484.jpg

many people that have swapped the rails for their GFC have had to trim or replace the cover on their sharkfin to clear on their 2nd gen.

This is the only easily available option currently https://www.kbvoodoo.com/shop/powder-coated-bed-side-rail-cap-system-fits-years-2005-2015
but the rails don't play nicely with some bed stiffeners and the company got removed as a vendor here for repeated customer service issues and a generally bad mood. I have a set of the old steel version which has experienced their signature powder coat failure.

yeah i am aware of the the issues and noticed that they where removed. see its only offered in aluminum now. I know the relentless ones worked. Wish I kept my old steel one granted the PC was starting to bumble but would of made my life easier for this swap.

Sounded like super pacific was taking this into account. Not sure if it means risks or the design of the camper has it built in. Would be super cool if we didn’t have to buy more stuff
