My buddy runs panes flexible and a folding one if you need more. Another guy local has commercial velcro and another guy will use RV tape to hold them. Could be a combo of both.

I have used it times and it's broken twice. It is designed to break easily which is why they sell the parts. It's not a bad awning if there is no wind around. If you get it staked it is critical to survival. I had 2 buddies buy around the same time and both got their money back. 1 person returned it. I was too late so got stuck with it. This likely goes for any of the awnings that are not the heavier-duty ones. For the price especially if you get a discount on expercity or another site it's hard to argue. I got a killer deal which is why we went with it.

I just easily popped my brake light off to run my camera wire through the same hole. The tape had given in to dust and was letting some water in. I ended up putting new tape and silicone around it when I reassembled.

ah yah that is what I was worried about giving it just had tape maybe no seal and nothing else to hold it on. I may drill some hole to access and bolt that sucker in.

Tell me more about this 3d printed cover? I saw another setup a guy with an A/T had that was pretty slick as well.

is there any substitution out there to replaces the 3rd brake light?

I was thinking of some red/amber KC cyclones and running as 3rd brake light and chase lights

could really use whatever you want. Baja makes a 3rd break setup. you could 3dprint something with cyclones although that may blind the people behind you.

I have a rough CAD drawing from a friend who isn’t a pro. I’m sure there are some wizards out there that can get me exactly what I’m envisioning, I just don’t know where to find them!

Virtually any flush-mounted third brake light replacement will work, it’s just a 1/2” hole behind the brake light that goes straight into the frame

Sounds like a easy solution then! Anyone wire their 3rd light already? Hows the output?

Just received a fitment update from SP. Tundra Crewmax is now approved for production and the first batch are in the queue! Next closest to production as of this email is Colorado (SB) then Gladiator. RAM 2500 (LB) and Chevy Silverado / GMC Sierra - (Regular Bed) appear to have recently started development.

At first, it seemed like the Gladiator was going to go up first, but Tundra is up next. Just sent Cindy my colors, 2x awning bracket, 2x molle, and rear glass window added to my order.

$169.95 each... pricing is fair in my book

Awesome! I was actually thinking about this this morning. About running the backup camera up there vs on a swingout tire carrier. Nice!

Lol. Again.. thoughts this morning.. I already have an old KC chase bar (running, brake, turns, reverse) that I was going to utilize on my current RTT setup. I wanted to mount it/replace the brake light and either flush mount it (would require cutting the opening) or making mounts to hang it down from the topper tracks down in front of the brake light.. and utilize that hole for the wiring. Back up camera above my chase bar would be perfect. I think I could make it damn clean and design and machine some badass billet mounting brackets to hang it.

But if anyone does want stuff for Cyclones.. years ago when they first came out I designed and printed some flush mounts for em. I'll see if I can find some old pics and post em up.

*cough*.. I do design and machining professionally.. and 3D printing for a hobby at home. Let me know and we can work on some stuff. Possibly a group effort thing too if others are interested in some solutions. I've made other mounts and remedies for other Taco related projects.. have some designs floating around TW for sale as well.

I have tons of ideas.. but haven't even ordered the SP yet... Lol I'm trying to think of any and all scenarios or potential issues/changes before jumping into it.

That's exactly why I'm considering this one, can get a decent deal on it. Disappointing, but not that surprising I guess.

well if you are cautious then it will prob be fine but be warned that in wind that sucker if not strapped down really good is going to sail away. Plus make sure you buy extra parts. the hinges are what break easy. I would keep 4-8 on hand at any time. They give you 2 spares
