What if a fan was located below deck and pushed air from below through the open space in the platform and out the vented tent sides or doors? Save making a hole in the roof.

Any pressure or vacuum would work in that space with a large enough fan.

So yeah, Peter replied to my email: "We popped those nuts in to receive a potential part that we’ve considered adding to the design. We aren’t totally sure it is necessary and we have some ideas for accessories that could mount to them so we figured we’d throw them in as a future proofing provision. You are not missing anything."

Well, the Gladiator SP is out. I was pretty surprised. I thought it was way behind the Tundra in the production pipeline but here us Tundra owners are still waiting. I know all about the shortages, etc. but it's looking like 1 year lead time for me as one of the first depositors. Pretty bummed. If they can get Gladiator materials why not Tundra materials for those who have waited so much longer?

Funny you should ask, I was just thinking about this. I assumed there would be an extra premium amount for it but I haven't received a bill. Just logged on and don't see anything either.

That's not to say there shouldn't be, and the agent has confirmed the camper is added. But AAA has been very disappointing for me. The previous agent I dealt with was fired for incompetence. He twice failed to submit key info to underwriting after signing me up for a policy, ultimately resulting in my policy being cancelled by AAA. I was even getting vehicle registration cancellation notices from DMV since my insurance was cancelled. I need to contact him soon about another matter, will ask about it premiums then and report back.

That is great about USAA as I'm a member. I like to minimize capital outlay...

USAA used to be even better. They have cut several of their services or farmed them out to other companies. Still happy to have them.

Found a pretty simple solution for sealing the bed storage compartment if you have 1/2 PEX laying around or any other 1/2” pipe just split it down the middle and silicone it on plenty of room for the doors and super cheap. Had left over scrap from a plumping project.

Any 6'+ back sleepers using a single Exped instead of the double and using the extra space for bedding?
Wondering if you miss touching the wedge feet-wise without using the additional end panel.

Trying to avoid diagonal so I can use my single Exped. Will work with the extra panel pushing the mattress back from the wedge I suppose.

I've been picking away at the build for the last couple weeks. Pretty much done now. Solar went on a couple weeks ago, then I've been installing and testing wiring, battery and other components since. As others have said being able to run wires through the cable runs is very nice. Battery monitor was the last piece and went in yesterday. Everything seems to be working. I still need to pick up some lights, and will probably install a water tank and pump at some point. I may add some more insulation but that isn't needed right now.

Solar panels and cables are solid. The Renogy panel +/- leads exit the panel in opposite directions which makes it a pain to mount them cleanly and securely. Wanted a setup that is removable but not so easy to remove to make them a target for thieves. Happy with how this turned out.

Posted this pic earlier. I put the battery and other electrical in the compartment on the left. The platform is flush with the top of the fridge to make a sleeping platform for stealth camping, or I can sit on it when the top is raised. The rest of the right side of the cabinet is open storage for now.

I went with the Renogy DCC50S for a charge controller. It charges from solar panels first and then supplements from the alternator when needed, also topping up the starter battery when the house battery is fully charged. The battery is Renogy 100Ah with heater. 1200W inverter so I can power a laptop or whatever.

Renogy has a bluetooth adaptor but I found this cheap Amazon battery monitor so I don't need to pull out my phone to see the battery status. Mounted it up front.

I cut an access in the electrical compartment for easy access to the inverter.

Made up a window cover for the rear hatch so people can't see in when I'm away or stealth camping. It easily slides over and is tied up with velcro normally.

Most important addition of all: :)

Nice work man! I've got a couple questions regarding your setup.. this is something I've been pondering over since I' got the truck really.

I wanted to add, more like replace, the factory inverter with a 1200W like you, but I wanted to put it in the factory inverter's location and utilize the factory bed outlet. What was your reasoning for keeping the systems separate? I'm mostly going to dedicate that outlet to my Fridge. It's been working great for that so far.. I think I just want the always on feature and some more power so when we do need it, its there.

Otherwise, I wanted to just run some 12v and USB outlets into the camper as well for our daily use stuff.

Trying to get the power all organized in my head and get a plan going. Wanting to have it done prior to Install.

Also, that rear window cover is perfect! lol how much for you to make me one so I can slap it on as soon as we pick our X1 up! :D We're gonna be camping on the way back home for a week or so.
