Where did you order the parts from? I'm sure several here besides me would like to do the same set up.

What awning brackets did you use to attach the OVS NOMAD 270 and did you use 2 or 3 brackets?

I used three SP ones, but drilled out the mounting holes and used larger M8 bolts and t-nuts to attach the bracket to the SP.

I used 8020.net for the main parts, then made a quick Ace Hardware run for all the bolts.

I’ve got a 270 LT awning. Are three brackets required?

As thin as the brackets are, I would recommend 3.

Hopefully I’m able to buy a third one during install!

Is there that much of a difference between the Nomadic 270 LT and the OVS Nomadic 270. I know there's a weight difference. Does anyone have a Nomadic 270 LT on their X1

I’ve had the Nomadic for a couple years and love it. Technically I have had two. One was on my go fast camper and now one on the Super pacific. I love how much space the Nomadic provides but I’m one of those people that likes that extra room for when we have friends with us. During our trip to Colorado we used it every night with the walls on it and a propane fire pit inside to keep four of us warm while we cooked and hung out.

Looking at pictures, I’d say the LT is a little small for our use, but better than not having one?

Thanks for the photo and information. That really puts it into perspective. Looking forward to seeing photos from your upcoming trip with the OVS Nomadic :)

Gzila rain-fly brackets and poles came in.
I think I remember some mention about grinding the cams down to fit the SP slots. Not sure how much material to remove.
Is this something I can do ahead of time or just bring them and a Leatherman along for after the install?
Or is there a better option to get the pole holders pre-fit?
PS - there was also some mention of the hinges accommodating a pole slot, not sure what builds that'll be avail on. That would be the best option!

Someone please link some options for hardware to mount stuff to the extrusions. I want to mount some quick fists along with some other things. I was thinking some carriage bolts so I don’t have to order anything? Not sure if that’s possible though.

Does some enterprising soul want to categorize and link parts/pieces to all of the popular mods people are doing to these tops? Seeing as how the thread is 210 pages at this point seems like a sticky or something on the first page would be really awesome and helpful. It's pretty difficult to track down certain posts where popular hardware was used, etc.

I'm new here, not a Tacoma owner (Tundra owner) and generally useless on things like this but I would happily buy the volunteer a beer or three. I hope that was an acceptable copout.

PSA for folks picking up their top soon! Concerning the small switch plates that are on the walls of the SP topper, Super Pacific only includes one with holes/power points unless you specifically ask for more. This gives you only one spot to mount round USB/power points in your truck if you don't ask for more! to avoid work and shipping charge later you might want to ask Spencer to sell or probably just swap a couple more in your top for the pre cut/switch ready ones instead of the blanks. His are CNC cut to the exact shape of the popular black plastic switches/power points/USB plugs (not just circular, they have flat sides for a snug fit) and if you don't have a drill press, actually even if you do, you won't make them as nice and pretty and certainly not powder coated after.

Each top has 11 blank plates from in stock order form and only one precut with switches, seems wise to grab a couple extras that are precut with the holes and powder coated. I'm quite sure SP has a huge box of them at the ready at all times.

I used a flat-edged file to file down the bolts. I'll try to find the photos. Working fine so far. As to the hinges or some other built in pole receiver, I emailed Peter about this and he said while they have considered this they don't have time for any engineering for add-ons, they're just trying to produce X1s.

Here's a link to the post where I uploaded the photos.

This is what Peter at SP said they use on the t-track extrusions. I believe there are other solutions, just offering what I was sent.
