Nope, a shop should only charge a few hours of labor to do it. Each side is 7 bolts.

I know i been super over weight. My truck vault alone was like 250-300lbs plus shell and RTT. This is why i been going through my camping kits and figuring out must have and stuff i might back seasonally for colorado.

What weight you managing to get down to? I’m planning to add decked which might be similar weight to the truck vault.

Depending on your skills or who can do it around you, I'd go for a custom aluminum extruded set up. The deck takes up the whole width of truck. Doesnt make as much sense for this camper.
I'm contemplating removing my drawers and going with two side drawers with more height. Leave middle open for walking around and getting in easier.

I got a couple Plano sportsman trunks for this. Most reasonable and affordable thing I’ve done.

That’s where the affordable part comes into play. Plano are $40 I think. I got mine on sale at Home Depot for under $20 each.

you can go with aluminum skids. sliders always steel. very few aluminum front bumpers nowadays and if you go with a rear that will also be steel. It does not take much to get to 1000.

nice! Big big planos are great but take up equally as much room if you dont want to pull them in and out. I had those for awhile. then recently build a DYI slide which now ill be ripping out. Similar to @frenchee I am considering some side drawers maybe 1 on each side which can be opened up from the top or possibly a slide on each side. leaving the middle open. I may do one side lower so I can put my fridge there instead of the back seat. As long as I can access it from the side without opening up the swingout.

Good idea about side access. I think with a swing out there is a lot of value to having certain things side accessible.
I'm picturing a structure with a small slide on the bottom, then essentially some shelving as you get higher. So when you open the side door of the shell, you can reach in and open a smaller trap and grab what you need.
Or open side door and open fridge etc.

Exactly. Before and after swingout in my current def wasted space since it’s just a pain to get to especially with the platform. Was going to build some doors to acres from the top but without side doors it’s a pain.

Cindy reached out and I've got a date! 11/20 for install in the morning and then swinging by wanderlust overland to snag some solar panels I've been eyeballing for a minute too. After talking to Cindy and Spencer, I know there was some initial concern about a 3rd brake light. That's standard now. The color options got sent out to me as physical samples to feel and look at. It was a really nice touch, especially so I could compare it to the truck without hoping a phone screen was an accurate color. Went with a black shell and a tan tent. My DCLB is Quicksand, and the OD Green would have been a little too on the nose so I had to get black.
