Unfortunately that's what happens when you create a bolted connection using stainless hardware without adding lubricant between the threads.

PS: I will be swapping my hardware out for non stainless. When I adjusted mine, they were very tight, like a cross thread feel for the same reason. Even though they were installed with a lubricant .
It's just very very hard to remove the mounting on first gen so I'm dreading it.

Yea, I just saw that on the website. I have #18 and I’m pretty sure mine are plexiglass, I’ll check tomorrow.
My leer camper before this was plexiglass on all 4 sides, not sure what the benefits of glass would be in a camper anyway. But if the website says glass I agree it should come with glass.

Makes sense I always thought the leer was glass but maybe it wasn’t.

I guess I should add, like Frenchee, I’ve got a 1st Gen, and the 4 bolt mount through the bed rails did surprise me. I was told when I had a Flippac that bolts would likely shear and that clamps had some needed flex, so the SP bolts have me worried. I think the inner lip helps but all that weight shifting on 4 bolts seems like a design afterthought. I agree with the general topic that the way it’s attached needs improvement. Not sure exactly what can be done.

My flippac was bolted through the bed on my 1st gen.
I replaced those with giant GCI clamps, I forget which model.

only one fiberglass shell I had (SnugTop) had “J-bolts” around the bed lip. All others are a clamp that puts pressure on the same surface and uses that tension to keep the top from moving.

Based on yours which I was curious you can see mine has shifted forward. I need to look at the front lip when I have more time later.

To be fair, when they installed ours, there was no exact method of locating front to back, it was eye balled, so there could in general be variation.

True I showed the last pick where I installed an extra seal which now has a gap. I need to go hack and look at some photos but it’s def gotten closer as my wired that run between are smashed in there. I’d also be worried about the rear glass. Other brands I’ve seen the canopy hit and shatter. Not really it moving but bed flex when it’s too close.

Honestly I'm more for the plexi window than glass. Less likely to shatter and also way harder to just break the glass and get in usually (plus I'd assume plexi is lighter)

Lighter for sure and easier to replace. But I can only imagine the glare/lack of visibility between 2 sheets of it.. especially after some time in the sun and some scratches.

@RangeRick about the Expo.. I don't even know if SP will be there.. but regardless, if you go.. I'll drive up so I can check out a SP in person. I was hoping to have mine in time for Expo... Guess not.

Fair - I've got both front and rear windows and don't even use them anymore. Even with glass there was plenty of glare and once I finished my buildout it was sort of pointless to even try. Now I'm considering a digital rearview mirror ha!

I definitely will be doing the same. Found the one I want on Amazon. More so to ditch the factory rearview camera and use that instead for a rear camera. I know it'll be minimal visibility regardless.. but I just want glass. Personal preference I guess

which mirror you looking at? I'm struggling with the true need - I have the convex blind spot mirrors that work well enough - and I'm starting to lose motivation to run wires etc anymore ha!

I have a couple ideas for trail cameras as well on top of this. I want to utilize this for my main rearview and backup (plus the dash cam features).. and then wire in a front facing camera for break over views on my head unit.

Oh damn. Lol. That is nice. I don't need all the Android stuff tho. I have an Android Car play headunit now for music and nav. Plus my Garmin for off grid.

This question may have been already asked, but I would like to know: Will the Super Pacific Camper clear a Uptop Overland roof rack on a 3rd gen?
