Ando2121, if it were me, I’d get white and install at least 1 vented window. I’ve hauled bird dogs from Montana to Texas in 0-90 degrees. You’re not doing them any favor without good fresh air ventilation.
You might also consider a boot between the cab and the SP. you could leave it open when traveling with your AC going. It would require modifying the front window of the SP, but if it’s actually plexiglass, that should be doable.
Another thought is a marine portal opening. Just searching for alternatives for you.

Best of luck! Hope to hear from someone on here who has carried dogs in the SP.

I think this Welland hardware might be the ticket. You could mount some box tubing vertically inside the bed that the Welland hardware would just drop into. When you want to swap direction, lift it up and turn it around. When not in use, fold up the hardware and secure the table surface to the door with some bungies.

Fantastic! Could you snap a picture of where the rear view camera is mounted on the back of the X1?

This looks like the same amount of ass space as you'd have sitting on the wheel well inside the bed.

The idea is to create a surface where you can put a stove and other goodies when your cooking inside on a miserable day. I don't think it would be a very good seat. You are better off with short folding chair inside the bed if you want to sit.

Can anyone confirm here if there are any cab racks that fit with the camper installed that don't require modification on a 3rd gen DCLB? I've seen the Prinsu mods, but would something like the Prinsu Habitat work? Or the Front Runner Slimsport? Without modifying.

I had my suspension upgraded for the same thing. Moto on hitch rack plus SP X1 plus camping gear etc. I can't make specific recommendations as I just made the drive up to Deaver in Long Beach and had them do their magic. I had the limitation of not being able to raise the height of the truck or it wouldn't fit in the garage anymore. I gave Deaver that info and they installed a custom leaf that added 1000lb capacity. I think this added maybe 1/4" height which was within what the garage height would allow. And installing an awning and fridge in the back corner likely compressed the suspension back down a similar amount.

Bottom line is the truck rides pretty well fully loaded. The only issue I still have is on abrupt slow speed bumps like a speed bump or rolling off a curb I can definitely feel the suspension clunk straight down there like it is bottoming out. It did that before camper/moto and new leaf spring too though. If I can find better shocks that won't lift the truck that will be my next upgrade when current shocks wear out. Air bags would likely help as well but again I can't have much if any lift. I'd find a good suspension shop in your area and get their recommendation.

I just finished it up for the most part tonight. Got the 35 mounted on it. Just need to bolt on the flip down tables tomorrow. It's nice.. but damn heavy. And going to take some getting used to.

Also got my 3rd brake light wired up, mounted my molle panel and was finally able to do some organizing in the camper. Definitely need a digital rearview mirror/camera(s) setup now.

@DavidS The door storage idea is interesting. The slides I have can go both in and outside at this time, I believe. The system I have with wood is a beta and I need to do some cutting of the slide to see if it will work for the inside. Another why is a simple hinges so a table could fold up from the wheel well. One would need a support under the table or use the idea of the Wellland Hardward with a longer piece bolted to it. That's kind of small in size IMHO. If those down piece could fit in a square stock, then it may be removable and stored in the door, if the size is right.

@Taco-Surfer The Wellland hardware was only $10 for a pair so I rolled the dice. They are way more solid than I expected and don't flex at all. The size seems about perfect for the 12" wide table I'm planning. The only hitch is that they don't actually form a perfect 90. I'm not too worried and expect I can get it dead level by using an 1/8" shim on one end. The trick will be finding a piece of stock with a 1" interior dimension and securing it so it won't flex with weight on the table.

@DavidS That is a cool thing, especially for only $10. I'll have to investigate this along with the sliding table idea.

A 1.5" inner diameter pvc or other pipe would probably hold a 1" x 1" square tube fairly well if my math is correct. Too wide and you could wrap tape around the square tube to snug it up. Too small and you could grind a bit off the corners of the square tube. The pipe could be attached upright quite easily. A 1.5" outer dimension stock would also be close depending on thickness of material.
