Do you park outside? I bet it's condensation - there's no real other reason for the roof to have water in the center of it after sitting. I'd bet the heat difference between the metal/camper and the white roof is causing it to accumulate up.

You could test this theory by pulling out your sliding bed section and checking the ceiling without popping the roof up - then you'd be able to see where the water is accumulating prior to it all sliding down when you pop the top.

Do you have any moisture mitigation things in the camper? Maybe a big thing of silica would help keep this at bay.

This is rather concerning. That's alot of moisture intrusion.

I do park it outside. With the rain here I suppose it could all be condensation - it's not like the whole camper is airtight. Seems like it may be a bit too much moisture for silica to handle though, wouldn't you think? I have a diesel heater and fan that I use while camping that keeps things pretty dry when I'm actually in there, it's really just when it's all closed down.

I'll try the sliding bed removal idea. With the way the water is distributed evenly, I agree that it seems condensation-y. I do question how that much moisture is getting inside though. I would be somewhat surprised if that much water was being pulled from humid air inside the camper without water actually intruding somewhere specific up top, if that makes sense.

    Yea I get what you're saying - what's your build number/pickup timing?

My thoughts…You might make certain everything is dry before closing it up. Then close it and throw a waterproof plastic or tarp over the whole thing to keep any possible water intrusion from getting in. Let it rain again. Then recheck it. If still dry, you probably have a leak. If wet, probably condensation.

Or even easier, when it’s dry, close it up and run a hose on top to see if/where the water is intruding. My guess is the panel just sandwiched into the extrusions.

I live in the Portland area and have had a similar issue. It seems greater than condensation here also.
Pulled one of the small panels out for a while to try to keep track of what's going on in there. In that circumstance water will drip off/out of the tent material and in to the bed which makes me think there is water intrusion that has worked through openings in the tent and to the inside. I usually store with vents open and windows cracked and just recently closed em all down during a dry spell we had here to see what happens during the next downpours.

I see a lot of guys have these campers and have trimmed down the prinsu rack to go under the camper how much clearance do you have between the trimmed rack and camper

    I'm #43. Picked up 4/9/21.

That's a great idea. I've definitely made sure to dry it out really well before closing it all back up before, and still noticed new intrusion, so I know it's getting in there somehow when everything's closed down.

I tried this before, but I didn't think to remove the floor and actually sit inside and look up. That's when I found the areas to butyl tape around the corners, like here (this is pre-butyl tape, by the way):

My guess is that if it's coming through the fabric around the keder track, it won't necessarily be a single point of ingress, but instead fabric acting like a sponge. Then all that moisture is available to create condensation everywhere that much more easily.

there were some tolerance changes on the white roof panel, which might be your issue. the guys at SP should be able to confirm timing and swap that out if needed.

Interesting, hadn't heard about that. I sent them a message, so we'll see what they say! That'd be somewhat comforting as a smoking gun, at the very least.

Taking the leap and placed an order for the new molle floor panels. Should be here within the next week or so.

Was thinking this as well, but more specifically whether the outside of the tent is still wet when it's been put away, and then it sits for a few days. That would be a lot of moisture inside that could build as condensation.

I had condensation a few times that was pretty bad, almost all on nights where it was raining and I hadn't opened the vents. I soon learned that makes a big difference. I still get some condensation on rainy nights but not bad. I just wipe the inside of the roof and any extrusion showing moisture with towels before I put the camper away. When I get the chance next time its sunny I open the camper and the windows up to let some air in and dry things out again. The only times I've seen condensation on the roof when opening the camper up were times that I didn't wipe it down before closing it up. SP #27 here.

Here’s the response I got from the shop about gen leaps:

“Yes, the camper's are interchangeable between different generations for the Tacoma. For all 3 Gens of Tacoma's the truck bed dimensions are basically the same, but thebedrail caps & tailgates have varying widths with each respective generation. To accommodate for this, we designed a tailgate flange that is specific to each generation, while keeping the base camper the same. So, if you ever needed to change to a different Tacoma, you would just need to order a new tailgate flange for the appropriate generation and swap it in.”

That's what I was thinking too, but I've even seen it after closing down the tent on a sunny 85 deg day, and leaving it closed for a month or so, and then opening it after it's rained a bit for a few days. So I'm 100% sure it was bone dry when putting it away.

Hmm, yeah then the only way there could be condensation like that on the inside is if water is getting in somewhere. Still seems odd it would cover the whole inside roof like that.

I just went about 6 weeks without using my camper, including a couple weeks in December driving through lots of rain. When I used it this past week there was no moisture inside at all.

HMMMMMMM. I'm going to try silicone around the roofline where the top roof meets the aluminum extrusion.

I'll be curious as well. Don't recall my build number but is less than 50.

@RangeRick Sorry for the delayed response, lots of surfing going on the past couple of weeks.... Yes, those are the same lights I have from GTFO. Super simple to hardwire and all I did was cut off the cigarette plug and hardwired into the fuse block.
