    Incredible rig.

My order in a Super Pacific is in! I am hyped!

Been doing some reading on this thread, have gotten back a couple dozen pages, and I'm picking up bits and pieces of info. Some people put leaf stiffeners, some don't. I've seen some mention of airbags online in various places.

Is there any general sort of consensus on what is a good idea to do to a stock suspension on a 3rd Gen 6ft bed?

If you don't carry much gear, don't have a motorcycle on a hitch or multiple bikes on a bike rack, stock springs will work ok on the road. At minimum you'll want a cheap add a leaf (and probably need longer U-bolts).

If you plan on having a fridge/cooler, propane tank, gear, water, and more stuff, an add-a-leaf will last a year or so. You'll likely be bottoming out off-road. Air bags would be fine if you stick to pavement and gravel roads.

If you off-road, just save yourself the headache and time wasted with the stock suspension and just order replacement leaf springs for your intended weight. Dobinsons are a good value.

    3rd gen?
Also consider the longer piston bilstein 5100 as entry to suspension world.

The Dobinson's L59-111-R (or 112) lifted my '17 DCSB enough to warrant them.
You'll also need to detach the e-brake cable stay and get a stay extension as it will be a tighter path to the wheel.
    I wouldn't do ride-rites again. They were a stop-gap at the time.

ps - suggestion, add your rig / state (guessing MO?) to your profile. Will help with any advice requested/given.

I can measure in a bit. FWIW the Prinsu racks fit under the overhang on 3rd gens with plenty of space to spare, though obviously the bit under is not very useful.

I get 34" from the top of the windshield to the front of the camper, along the driver side rain gutter. 8" from between the two doors. The angle of this photo is not great but it was right at 8".

Will you be going off road with this truck? You are likely going to start seeing witness marks on the top of the rack where the camper overhang touches it when the Tacoma frame flexes and the camper is bouncing up and down...

Nothing very aggressive. There's a good inch of clearance, which I'm sure a rough bump could flex enough but that's not really why I'm in this so I don't anticipate it happening much if at all.

I added a license plate frame backup camera when I upgraded my radio to one with a 7” screen and Apple Car Play (different story, but on the 1st Gen the screen is so low and reflects so much light that I wish I had gotten one that tilts up, or had gotten a different setup). ANYWAY turned out my backup camera was blocked by my bike rack so I moved it up to the third stop light. I cut the license plate frame off except for a small portion, removed the third light, ground a channel into the plastic wire protector behind the light, routed the wires inside, and reconnected the light with vhb tape. Total pia. Notice in the photo that I screwed up the light lens by trying to take off the existing tape with some acetone. Then I find that my backup camera has built in guidance lines that can’t be turned off. Bottom line, wish I’d gotten a different camera in the first place. But it is very nice to have that top down view when backing in various circumstances. Edit: AND I’m not taking up any room on the t-tracks, don’t have to route wires inside from there, etc.

So, im a douche and im asking. But some of you have roof rack/cross bars for the super pacific. What did you all get? I know im going to need some for my trip home, my tonneau cover will need to go up there. I wont drive cross country with all my gear in an open bed, so ill leave the cover on till i arrive, then remove it.

I drove up in November and just covered everything in the bed with a tarp. Just an idea.

I just left my tonneau cover there. It was $200 a year ago so I gave it to an employee there. I didn’t need it anymore. I just built up a roof rack with three cross bars using 8020. Total $300.

Thx folks and @frenchee yep its bolted to the truck bed. The SP team did say they were working on new bed clamps though.

@Pagan220 any chance you have your 8020 roof rack parts list still? I’m in the market for a roof rack and figure others will want to copy too.

Had the bars cut at 56.5” and the ends tapped for 5/16 x18. Mount the side plates on the X1 then bolt the bar across. I did 3 bars because I’m mounting a solar panel but I also wanted to carry a ladder/ boards/ canoe etc at times. The space between the two solar panel bars would be too short. I got the idea from another member on here.

Maybe you could find a buyer for your tonneau cover in Portland
