@Coop68 and @XPOTRPR I installed the front support after the X1 was installed. Here are some schematics I created, and these along with photos are somewhere in this thread back around pages 80 or 100 or so. Also, for those who are interested, here are photos of the brackets I made to keep the X1 from moving.

Yeah now I remember going over all that with you.. I'm glad its working out! I would have done something similar if I had already had the X1, but I also wanted to remedy the filler used for 2nd gens and stock rail caps, hence the solid 6061 bar I made. locates the camper and provides a solid flat surface for the bulb seal to sit on.

It has worked out great. BUT, if I didn't already have the X1 on I would have done what you did. Your method is very solid!! I'm getting small water leaks up front probably from the bulb seal and I need to figure out exactly where....

However, I backed into a large pole and will need to get a new rear quarter panel, and this necessitate me having to take the X1 off, so I may be doing what you did. Josh, do you remember what page #s you posted what you did?

ahhh bummer on the damage man! for the water leaks.. that's a bummer too.. but hopefully easily fixed. maybe its just from the front corners?

I can get you all that info. I've shared the details, dimensions, etc to a few other guys to have them made locally to them or DIY.

Slow day at work and found these clips from back at King of the Hammers in Feb., so threw them together real quick. Wanted some kind of video footage of the truck in its current status.

Camper doesnt move too much in the vids, but also hard to really see. its hasnt budged though.

water leaks appear to be the front corners.

ok, that might be a good thing then. I ended up having to seal those corners up regardless, even with my bar. just tiny little corners and cracks. I used that Butyl tape for those spots.

@econwatch go to pages 260, 261, and 266 to see what I did upfront to keep the X1 from sliding forward. I have drawings and pictures, and there are some discussions on this. I installed these after the X1 was installed and I have a 2nd Gen. @XPOTRPR Josh, has a great idea on pages 262, 263 and a bit further on using a bar he installed, prior to installation of the X1. I like this idea and since I have to pull my X1 off for body repair, I will go this route.

Hi @Taco-Surfer.Thanks, but the issue I'm experiencing is up top where the lift brackets hit the fabric upon closing and are starting to eat into the fabric and the extrusion. The camper is solid on the bed, no movement.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I've got the battery powered yellow pump (it's awesome) and I'll work on deflating more and removing bedding. There's enough T9 lube in my blue latches to revive a nuns faith.

A couple more trips within Socal recently. Up to 156 nights in the camper now!

The gutter I made works pretty well but still has some errant drips where the edges contact the extrusion.

Camping above Santa Barbara was pretty rad with ocean views and great access to MTB trails

Did some more riding over by Ojai

And then a few more days between Palm Springs and our local mountains

Maiden voyage. Allegheny National forest. Everything worked awesome. Great design. I had at least a dozen people ask me/admire it over 3 days.

    Nice truck! : )

You might as well get used to being a celebrity. I've had mine 14 months now and still have people approach me about it almost daily. More when you're out in parks/national forests etc.

Got out again this weekend as well. Drove 6 hours into northern Arizona almost into New Mexico with the crew to camp and build a VersaTube garage/shophouse for our buddies customer who bought 36 acres in the middle of nowhere to start a off-grid homestead. Used the truck for home base while we worked all weekend. My revised 12v water setup worked beautifully. I need to get some detailed pics/vids of it.

How did you get your 1up to piggy back off of your moto tray?

That could definitely be useful for stealth camping purposes if you don't pop the tent!

It's a Versahaul moto carrier, the tube goes straight thru with a receiver on the end that the 1-up rack plugs into. Works pretty well albeit with the predictable loss of departure angle.

The main downside is I can't easily put the MTB in or take it out of the canopy as I can't open the tailgate or even the rear hatch with the moto on the rack. I successfully pulled it out of the side door on a recent trip but it was not easy. I like having it inside on long freeway drives, long dusty fire road drives, and of course if I have to be out of sight of the truck for any length of time. Tradeoffs....
