The guy who makes the drop rail now makes it for the super pacific. Did you add anything else when you got the X1? It could be more from the weight than anything. I did not notice much of a difference. my truck was already heavy and more or less traded places.

How much difference does it actually make for cellular data? I've got verizon and usually had pretty decent coverage outside of urban areas (eg friends on AT&T or Tmobile would have no service while I'd have 2 bars). But this summer I seemed to have trouble with data connections after one of the Android software updates and in places it would show 2-3 bars LTE service but apps requiring data still wouldn't work.

I'd need a solution where the antenna could easily be rotated down so it would be below the top of the camper. And preferably easily removable when not on trips or away from the truck for extended periods.

Ran the math on my mileage before and after camper install:

    Before: 18.04mpg over 33k
    After 17.54mpg over 42k miles

Considering I've got 230 nights in the camper now which means a lot of low mpg forest road driving, those numbers are pretty consistent.

It works….just ok. It definitely kicks up the signal and has allowed my wife to work from some campsites and remote roads. If it was just me I wouldn’t have gotten it and I don’t think it’s worth $500 but I remember a time when you traveled with a map and a sense of adventure.

+1 I learned to read the free at gas stations state maps when very young traveling around the US, Canada and Mexico with my parents. I still carry all sorts of maps when I head out. Also a compass!

First I’ve seen it. Other than the usual REI and other sports goods stores.
The adjustable legs working good still?
I need more space than just the tailgate at times.

Didnt see it had adjustable legs, that's new. Ours is an old, I think, Camping World table, I'd have to check if there's even any branding on it.. idk. My Grandpa gave it to us years ago.. its gotta be at least 10+ years old. Same design though (minus the adjustable legs). Has held up awesome over the years and super easy to assemble and clean.. not to mention how small it packs down. We always just threw it in last and it filled up inherent cavities that were created when packing.

We actually dont use it that much anymore though because we have the dual swingout with dual tables now.

I've got this one from REI. https://www.rei.com/product/159024/mountain-summit-gear-heavy-duty-roll-top-table-large

It's a bit longer which I like since I don't have swingouts and tailgate is often not available. With stove sitting there, I still have enough room for food prep. It isn't compact or light but that wasn't a concern for me. Very quick to set up and put away.

It goes on sale occasionally, think I only paid $70 for it.

Thanks for the review. Hard to get an honest one sometimes as people often don't like to admit the gadget they spent $$$ doesn't work that well.

Don't need it for maps/navigation. On trips after being out of range a few days I find myself having to hang out in town for longer than I'd like to catch up on emails, etc. If I had a range extender that actually worked, I'd have to do that less often since I'd have service at more camp sites.

For what it costs, may make more sense for starlink. A buddy just got it, 600 for equipment, and then ala-cart for monthly service .

So, the middle molle panel sold to bridge/fill the gap between two panels wont work with original panels. Ask me how i found out just now....

I just went off od what is described on the web site. After studying the photos, it will only work with the new panels they just started making. Email and photos are off to SP. At the least, id want a refund and return shipping covered. Guess ill make my own "bridge."
Also, its not a wide enough piece to drill your own holes, the add on needs to be wider.

What a pain! I can’t believe they didn’t use the originals!

I was pretty proud of myself for this flip up WeBoost hinge I built out of mostly 80/20 leftovers and a spring plunger. However I found that I get 90% of the benefit when it's the the horizontal position, according to the Network Cell Info Lite app (Android only). I rarely flip it up anymore. I'm also not convinced the bigger antenna works that much better than the small one that came with it.

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/QQDnp6PrvBePnH6X8

The one thing I did realize is the inside antenna only really works if it's pretty much touching my phone. The advertised 18-36” seems like bs per my testing.

Build comin along nicely, finally got the right side built with stacked drawers. Planning on getting some cushions for that side. Currently have the compressor mounted in there behind the drawers. The tops flip up for access from the inside, same with the countertop for access to the fridge. Also love the drop down table mounted on the fridge box so when you open the side door of the camper you have a place to set things down. Didnt grab a clear photo of that :/

Cool antenna set up. I’ve noticed the same, phone has to be right next to interior antenna to work.

If you get a chance, grab a pic of that drop-down table. I've been thinking about how to do something like that in mine.
