Hey everyone. I had a weekend from hell with bugs and heat in my camper last weekend, so I am starting to develop a bug screen product for both sides and the tailgate. This could totally end up just being something I make for me and myself, BUT, if anyone has interest in this, take 2 min to fill this out. Just looking to see if the idea has any interest outside of my own mosquito bite riddled body... This is a 2 min, 5 question Typeform survey on the idea... if you have the time, I greatly appreciate it!

Has anyone tried running the alucab side screen for the SP yet? Looks like it would be the perfect size/setup for what I'm hoping to do with mine when it's installed in a little over a month

To me it looks like there are no holes for those pesky SP latches and catches. That’s what’s prevented me from simply attaching some mosquito netting with Velcro.

Anyone fit two large kayaks on the X1?
I’ve been fishing my hobie compass (12 foot) and strapping it down solid in the bed with use of the rear shackles. My GF and I got a hobie passport (10.5foot) so she can tag along once a while and now I’m starting to think I should have gotten longer roof bars. I’d really like to get both kayaks on their flat side down side by side. I’ve considered one kayak flat side down and one on J cradle. I don’t like adding that much height to the truck. (Wind resistance and side wind complications at highway speeds). Trailer is out of question for now. When I have two kayaks I won’t be “wheeling” anything difficult. Mostly for where I live (San Diego county) and Baja trips. Any suggestions ?
My bars are 56” wide. Both kayaks are 34” wide. So they’d stick out unless I get longer bars.

I realize I will have to unload them anytime we decide to sleep in the camper on a trip.

What about picking up some longer Yakima bars? I am running Yakima bars, but using special,anti-vibration clamps - the bars are about 1/2" above camper roof.

The advantage could be you could easily swap out different width bars.

This is pretty clever set up. I have an extra 56” stick of 8020. Wanted to use it as a third bar and have it replace my solar panel mount. I could cut it and make extensions to my current 8020 bars on truck. Don’t like the idea of splicing extensions in but I can also add and remove those when wanted.

I just picked up two 10.5 foot 32 inch wide kayaks and hauled both using cheap Amazon J-hooks. I have Yakima bars approximately the width of the X1. Drove about 250 miles with no problem.

There was certainly room to haul one of them flat if I'd wanted.

Awesome, thanks for your input. I'm in between adding cross bar extensions (splicing extra 16" 80/20 , 8" on each side of bar) or buying 1 Jhook style mount.
In some windy passages, I really don't like the X1/Truck sway so I rather not add to it and also cut down my height clearance. (starbucks drive through you know).

    Gotta make a decision soon.

Did you ever hear back on this by chance? To my surprise, I got the message from SP that my build is going to be ready a few weeks earlier than expected!

Spent my first couple nights out a few weeks ago on Oregon BLM land, and we just spent our first "family" night in the camper Friday night in near-Eastern WA. What a treat.

I've also started printing accessories for it, such as notched lower rail panels for wiring and mounts that let me use zipties for the Hardkorr lighting kit.

These are an "early" prototype, I have since added some more support and made the guide feet taller to better keep the bar in position. There is a step on the underside that aligns it with the center of the channel holes and a fillet around the backside to let the ziptie follow a curve instead of a sharp edge.
