The footprint is the same, so I imagine it would clamp right up (could email SP to double confirm). You will want to replace/refresh the bulb seal under the camper just to be sure.

I’m not clear on your question. Are you asking if a 2nd and 3rd gen beds are compatible? I believe the answer is yes.
Or are you asking if a 1st gen and 2nd/3rd gen are compatible…no. My 2nd gen and my 1st gen beds are way different in width.

Edit: the 2nd gen will NOT FIT ON A 1st gen. And the attaching clamps are different as well. 2nd gen on have the built in rails. 1st gen clamps to the top “ledge” same as caps do.
As mentioned, Sacha at SP should get back to you quickly with photos of how the 1st gen attaches. He has always responded quickly to my questions.

I don’t care to read through 371 pages of this, but the Super Pacific X1 is now double the price of a GFC. Even if it’s substantially better, I can’t justify paying $14k for a tent camper when GFC is only $7k.

he’s asking if a camper thats currently on a 2nd gen will fit on a 1st gen without issue. The best answer is “email SP”.

I’m sure if you option a GFC to a similar level of an SP you’ll see the pricing goes up quite a bit- even close to what slightly used SPs go for. 371 pages mostly of satisfied customers- can’t always say the same for GFC, but of course “do your own research”…

So I’m about to purchase a X1 used. But it’s currently on a 1st gen and putting on my 3rd gen.

Was told I need a different rear flange but also thinking I need new mounting hardware to attach to the bed rail?

    Anything else?

(I’ve emailed SP but seeing if you guys will give me a faster response as these things sell fast and a few hours from me)

    TIA

Pretty sure you'll need new clamps. Even if they are the same I'd install with new clamps just for safety. Can't speak to the flange

Did you measure to make certain the Gen 1 will even fit your Gen 3? I have a 2003 and a 2015 and there is a big difference in bed widths!

No I haven't, but from what the seller said it would fit with a new rear flange(feedback he recieved from SP). Also I believe reading on here people have said the same. I am double checking with SP too. I am just putting a deposit down since its a few hours from me so can't check everything.

Just remeasured both of mine to see how they would fit…surprised! It should fit both and just stick out maybe 1/2” at the most on the 2nd gen! Sorry I should have double checked before I wrote about it.
I will be interested in seeing the tie-downs. Should be the same as the latest design.
Best of luck with getting your SP tied down. I think you will enjoy it.

Thanks! Yeah SP just got back and confirmed I only need a new rear flange and updated V3 clamps. Those are $200 bucks though, a bit pricey.

Im stoked(If I do get it). I just sold my home built wedge camper, it was useful for a while but I had to address leaks too much living in the PNW. I like also the modularity of the SP. Only wish the upper platform was a bit thicker to allow my custom mattress, will see if it will close with it. The exped will work fine for me though as well. Almost went in on a GFC on their BF sale, but even though they say their lead times are quick, an install date at their factory is still 6 months or longer out.

A few of these SP's have popped up, but the biggest issue is everyone wants to sell as a package and transferring these are a bit of a pain with no lift.

Can't wait to start finishing my buildout.

Has anyone installed L tracks on the exterior of their doors yet?

Does anyone know if the tent fabric is different between colors or are they the same material?

I’m certain they are the same, but still I’d call Sasha and ask, or email them. They always got back quickly with me on my emailed questions.

Considering quick use heat sources. May get into a diesel/gas heater of some sort as things progress but wondering if anyone has used an electric space heater? I have a couple battery sources for power and figure it could sit on the panels at the front. It could be up top and be able to have enough space around it avoid melting. May also look into heated blanket since the heater by itself may not be enough to heat up area evenly (cold at the feet). Maybe having it below better?

I use a small 250w space heater connected to a 1500w battery bank. It gives me 6 hours on full blast(which-again- is just 250w). A heater this small is really just a 'personal' heater and not a SPACE heater. However, my topper is fully insulated(or as close as I can get) and it does a decent job warming things up as long as I'm staying inside. It's on the bottom on a ceramic plate so the bedrug doesn't get too hot.

I’m looking at getting a Super Pacific. I’ve been doing a ton of research but wanted anecdotal experience from TW members who have used their X1’s for more than 5 nights a year.

Would you buy an X1 again? What do you love? What do you hate? Do you feel the (now) $13k price tag is worth it?

I love my X1 and I have spent quite a bit of nights in it. It has all the design aspects that are lacking in the competitors.

    My top pros:
-side doors without the frame taking up most the space like the GFC (or pay for side doors on the drifter)
-cable management for electrical stuff is amazing
-threaded inserts everywhere = highly customizeable

    Cons:
-tolerances are very tight causing some issues closing the tent (for me at least). Not a huge deal, normally just takes an extra yank
-cant store much bedding up top.
    -extremely expensive

That all being said, I'm not sure if the things I love is worth the few grand difference.
