Thanks guys. Just ordered what evdog suggested on Amazon. It is weird the right side works flawlessly for the last 3 years.

Anyone found a cheaper alternative to the cargo packs?

I added a Grayman tactical molle panel in one of my doors. Less than $80. Add cheap Amazon molle bags from there or use quick fists, etc.

Not by much, ha. One of those panels + a cheap bag = more than I want to spend.

Half the price of a dirt bag from SP  you bought a super pacific LOL. Zipties and a $20 molle bag from Amazon?

Like I said, not really. I found that panel for $60. That and a $20 'Zon bag plus some zip ties? Might as well just get the real thing that's designed for it, ha.

Yes I know I got an SP. New to me not new new, haha. My brain just doesn't want to accept an $85 bag.

Oh, the bags aren't as expensive as I originally recalled. Big zip ties going end to end on the lash mounts on the door, and cheap Amazon bags would get you under $50 https://a.co/d/3u02ttE

So I’m looking at maybe getting an X1 soon. I’ve seen pictures of it installed over other roof racks, but can someone measure the distance from the cab to the bottom of the tent? I have an RCI rack that I’d love to not cut up.

I've got slightly over 4 inches between the cab and the tent. Clears my Prinsu just fine. I only threw the foam on as a just in case.

That is measuring from the lowest point on your cab. I measured mine from the highest ridges on my cab and its closer to 3.25-3.5". My UpTop rack clears with plenty of room left over. No touchy.

Outstanding, won’t have to cut mine. Thanks!

I got to demo one this afternoon (their demo program is pretty great) and placed an order immediately after.

I joined that program to see if it works/helps. Make sure you use the demo's referral link or whatever it is, ha.

Just be mindful.. the racks will clear on a 3rd Gen but may not on a 2nd Gen. The bed depth difference is about 1" between the two.

I had to take 1" out of my Prinsu rack to clear my X1.

Bittersweet. Sold 2/3 of the Alu-Cab setup yesterday. Just have the tent left to sell. I keep reminding myself it’s all gonna be worth it lol

It’s also strange AF to see my truck this naked after 2 years.

Does anybody in the SF Bay Area have a Super Pacific that would be willing to let me take a look? I'm mainly considering the GFC and Topo Mesa for a purchase later this year or early next (mostly coming down to weight and height - the Mesa is probably my preference of the two), but I keep coming back to the Super Pacific because it combines the best features of the Topo (permanent internal passthrough, sliding front window, standard 80-inch sleeping area that uses standard mattresses) with the best features of the GFC (apparent strength, internal/external modularity, integrated vents at peak of tent, tent doors can be propped out, full-length side doors, matching keys, company is more of a known factor) while also adding some features that I'd like (better mattress, grommets for taking cables in/out of the camper, internal cable management) and what looks to be very good fit, finish, and build quality, plus a warranty that's 2.5x as long. Really my main hang ups are the increased weight, possibly the height (I'm unclear how high the SP sits above the top of the cab), increased cost, and that it lacks some of the factory-installed options that the Topo offers (eg: factory-installed Maxxair exhaust fan, solar jack on the roof , and diesel heater port).

Go to their website and click “demo an X1”. They can put you in touch with an owner to look at one. And if you decide to buy, you both get $250 towards accessories.
