What all are you drawing with constantly? I guess with a single group 25 that could happen, though.

When it finally kicked I was running 100 watt to a Northstar 31M and I run my fridge 24/7. It was mainly during the winter/raining when we had a solid week of overcast/wet/dark weather so there was plenty of juice storage at the time. Then I moved to 200 watts same battery, added the booster, and no issues. Recently added the DC/DC and swapped to 2 35's instead of 1 31M to balance the weight. I really like the idea of lithium for weight savings. Maybe down the line ill move to the bed and do that.

Nice! That’s a good idea. find some medical equipment. I bet that was a good deal. with the redarc one thing I like is I can add a lithium right away if I want but would need to decide to change the setup or upgrade the dc dc.

That's a crazy good deal. 100AH prebuilts or even DIY kits cost upwards of $550.

yup! I lucked out. Figured even if they weren't at full capacity it was still worthwhile for the price.

which leaf pack? Did you get the truck weighed? If it’s a Dakar leaf pack and you have bumpers armor fair warning it mag not be up to the future task for long. I’m waiting u too I get the x1 to fully swap our. Currently have a HD Dakar setup so good enough for pickup

Ome HD right now, I won’t be getting rear bumper anytime soon, most likely would go Deavers when the time comes. My estimated weight is SP (300), Rigd carrier/ spare (150), and camp gear (150)

make sure you account for any skid places, sliders. seems like you will be ok but just, for example, I have full armor and a swingout and my truck is estimated at 1700 over stock when I thought it was be closer to 1000 so def recommend weighing your truck just to make sure. You should be fine but it was a big surprise to me.

yah that's the good way to go. I did my relocation last year with the Dakars and they are not up to the task. My truck/shock shafts sit a couple of inches lower than they should. I hope the the new leaf pack give some the 2" that they are missing if not I will need to have the lower mounts moved lower. Ideally do it with whatever leaf pack will be the go forward but at the time I did it anyway.

the dakars will get me to Portland and back so it's ok for now. I also just ordered some energy suspension body mount and radiator kits. Likely the mounts are toast anyway but with the extra weight some poly's will possibly give me some lift in the front back. I would highly recommend adding that to the list even if you have a newer 3rd gen.

Posting this here in case it might help someone in the future:

As you guys might know, I'm planning on installing a Dickinson p9000 propane fireplace in the back of my camper. I've spent a few aggressive google sessions learning about how to safely store propane inside of a camper (I don't have a bumper that allows for external mounting, and it doesnt seem feasible given the door config of the SP).

In short, you have to buy or make a "propane locker" which is essentially a sealed compartment that vents from the bottom to the exterior (propane is heavier than air and will sink like water to a low point in the event of a leak). Not only does the compartment vent outside, but also isolates from any possible sparks/ignition sources.

Anyways - most of what I saw was either in Australia/UK or super expensive and built for marine use ($600 or so). Hitting my witts end, I looked over at the bucket I used to store stuff (beer cans, wag bags, etc) while on my raft and a lightbulb went off....

I present to you, my future propane locker:

Gamma seal lids are airtight, and with a bottom vent and routing for a propane hose (both easily sealed with silicone) I'll be off to the races for like $20. Work smarter, not harder, people!

I would recommend a second battery in the camper, if you ever want to install LiFePO4. The engine bay gets way too hot for Lithium. From the studies I have read, Lithium capacity will degrade very quickly once the temperature rises above 120F. I have heard that Truck under hood temps can easily get up to 200deg in the summer.

My lithium batteries in the Drifter bed have never gotten above 120deg (based on Victron BT battery temp sensor) even in Moab in August.

    Just my 2 cents.

+1 on the medical batteries. I picked up 2 Valance 45 Ah batteries from eBay. They were still in original packaging. They have been amazing. They were cheaper when I bought them ($300 total) before Will Prouse got 1M views on a video he put out in them. But I think they still are a good buy.

@Beboman Sure glade to see you here a FORD FAN. Im a Chevy fan myself. I'll probably be rolling in right behind you with my 2019 Colorado ZR2.
We have those big ugly antennas on top. I trying to figure out how to mitigate that before I get to Superpacific. I know there going to be a clearance issue.
20201205_084715.jpg I also have the 21 Taco TRD PRO for the wife thankfully that was built smarter than ZR2. lol
