i have settled for a color I didnt want in the past, not going to do it again. i think the 32960 truck has been on their lot for a while. after a few of the comments here, i checked again to see where else this color is available in DCLB TRD Sport 4wd, using toyota inventory website, autotrader and cars.com, and really, there appear to be about 4 or 5 of these in the country, none west of colorado. apparently it is rare.

will still try to get them to negotiate, if possible. maybe on the trade.

If you want Spruce Mica you better get it haha... It's by far the best color, and hardest to get it seems. You'll get more compliments on that color than any other. My 2011 Tundra is Spruce Mica, our 2012 Tacoma was Spruce Mica. My dad liked it so much after we got rid of the Tacoma he went and got a 2014 in Spruce Mica. Luckily my local dealer likes the color and tries to get all they can. There's just not alot out there.

Haha no I Wish! I had a trade in as well so numbers get a little crazy, that was just the selling price of the truck itself.

Guys, if I look at Toyota's website, I cant seem to get a 2014 TRD Off Road with Entune Plus (6 speakers, navigation etc, not the JBL package, see attachment). How are you guys finding this combo. TY.

PS. Was quoted $29,747 all in, excluding tax for:
-Double 4X4 V6 TRD Off Road (V6 Tow Package, Entune Plus, Off Road Package)
-accessories included All Weather Floor Mats & Door Sill Protectors

    Is this a decent price?

That's about what I payed for my sport, and a few other dealers around here wouldn't match it

Go to another dealer and get a price on what truck you want, doesn't matter the color because there isn't an extra charge for color. Get the best price and let them figure out how to get the truck for you.

Then tell them to either do a dealer swap or to order you one.

Again there is no extra charge for color and the invoice already has the freight charge no matter where or how they get it to you.

They told me the truck I wanted was nowhere to be found, and tried talking me into one the lot. I said no, get me what I want. I live in RI and thy had to get my truck from PA. They had it within two days.

First off: I like the color ( didn't buy it, but like it). Think about this: if it sold at high numbers you would be covered up on the lots with them. They can get as many green as white. They just don't sell in volume as well.
Your dealer (any dealer) can do a "Boss Change" and get you one in about 4 to 8 weeks. Your salesperson may not understand the term but the Sales manager will. The lack of them and a few very vocal customers have made it kind of a cult truck. Still not enough to stock very many.
I am retiring at the end of the month (GM at Toyota store) and we gladly will dealer trade them off when we get one in green. Hell, we are at the worlds largest army base and just no demand for the color over a few who come in and order it.
Mother Toyota's big thing now is you only stock the colors and accy's that stay on the lot the shortest amount of time.

went today to a dealer in the area (40 miles away). spoke to them on the phone yesterday, and they said they had one that was gonna be in a couple weeks, in my exact specs. Sounds great. Gave me a price, and everything, so I agree to come in today, and, surprise, surprise, the truck is being built in a couple weeks, and might be here in a month. Mind you, I am not in a terrible hurry. So, ok, sounds good, oh, wait. . . that truck actually sold. How can it be sold if it hasnt been built. So, I guess i was too late to even leave a deposit.

The next hour was spent with them looking over their computer inventory to see what was going to be allocated locally. They finally said nothing. However, two tacomas were allocated to their dealership, likely arriving in April. I could have one of these made to my specifications, but "only if I assured them I would buy it."

I asked them about two trucks that were exactly what I wanted that were located a few states away and 1100 miles away, first they said, no, those have different emmissions in the other state (not true), and then they said that the other dealers werent allowing a swap, but they never really answered my question.

I got a long story about how both of the plants that make tacomas are running at full capacity, 24 hours a day, and are still behind on demand, making the trucks scarce, especially a color, not normally wanted, like spruce mica.

they say they can modify the allocated trucks due in april to my specifications, but I actually dont trust that those trucks wont somehow get sold out from under me too.

i am now considering the 1100 mile trek to pick up the truck that actually EXISTS.

this is bordering on absolutely absurd.

Tacos are only made at one plant in San Antonio and I assure you they are not running 24 hrs a day. I'm sure you know but these are all just tactics to sell what's on the lot so they can clear out current inventory.

The decision is even harder now that the SR5 has the color matched items the sport has.
