Opinions please as I am pretty pissed....Went to the dealership told the guy what I liked he chatted for a bit showed me a truck that wasn't what I wanted and told him I would offer 30k yes low ball price on the 2014 Sport 4x4 DCSB Blue Ribbon Metallic out front and he says I can do that. I told him I would be purchasing it by the end of the week and like that in writing and he said 3 or 4 times you have my word 30k and approved it with his Sales Manager upon then giving me his card. Next day I asked for the VIN to get my Credit Union going with the paper work and needless to say he said I told him that truck was 33k sticker which I never said and secondly he is the salesman and should have known the price of his own truck (36k) I made an offer on. I sent an email out to that dealership explaining everything in detail and that I wanted them to recognize that price and that he f'd up and should honor it. That was my first time ever going there. Should I do anything else to try and get the truck for that and if so what? I sent an email to all the sales managers with his name and the manager that was working that day along with the regional manager and haven't heard anything back. Please chime in. Thanks

you didnt get it in writing so I think you're fighting a losing battle. An exchange of words at the dealer without it being on paper is pretty worthless. Sorry man. They are not going to lose money on a vehicle.

I seriously doubt they give you that truck for 30k. If it wasnt a 4x4 then you can get it for a little less than 30k but with it being a 4x4, selling it to you for 30k would be below invoice.

It may seem like a high price, but I cant find another truck like this one in all of Utah or Idaho. I called every dealership in SLC. This was the best price anyone would give me. They say they lost 600 on the deal. Not sure if thats true. One thing is for sure this, truck is loaded! It was Mark Miller Toyota SLC

They didn't loose anything just a sales pitch. Did you ask to see the invoice price. You generally can get it for invoice or slightly higher.

Nice! Don't worry about the intermittent wipers, I think that's a really easy swap with an oem stalk you can get on ebay for $100 or so. Same with cruise control, but the thread I saw on that didn't have a 100% success rate like the wiper mod so you'll want to read up on that one before you buy anything.

When I was discussing the financing on my 2014, I wanted to take advantage of the $750 "Recent Grad" rebate and that meant I HAD to finance through TFS. So I had to choose between lower interest rate and $750 rebate. Finance guy kept telling me "take the $750 and refinance" and I kept telling him that there was no guarantee that I could refinance at a lower rate if I took the deal and left his office (though I knew I could because my bank had already approved me for less). Anyway, he offered me 2 free tanks of gas for sh!ts and giggles...I got that in writing :). Bet he thought that was weird, but they're on the south side of town, so anytime I'm down there with no gas I have 2 free fill-ups!

I am now looking at a 2014 Tacoma PreRunner DCSB with Sport Package, entune (no nav) with running boards. They want $29000 +TTL. He showed me the invoice which was $28,738. So they would make $262 on the deal (plus any holdback or financing kick backs they get). Seems pretty reasonable...just gotta figure out if I want a short bed or long bed.

    What do you guys think?

Not a bad price. I know people that got a 4x4 w/ nav for 32 out the door. I think that's a tad high. Wait till the 31st then make an offer :)

You mean 32K plus TTL? If they paid 32K otd that means they paid about 29,500 for a 4x4. No way.

The best I could find on a 4x4 was a DCLB with NAV for $33,200 + TTL.

There have to be some details missing. Like puting money down and so forth. Or unless their dealer lost money, who knows. Of course, if its on the internet it must be true..right? Lol

I know this though, if they paid either of those prices, they paid less than invoice and around here (in Cali), they dont sell them below invoice.

My zip is 93619. Thats interesting on the invoice you came up with. What site are you using to pull up the invoice info?

Maybe I am missing something and that is why he said it was higher.
