Seemed like a reasonable deal and a few hundred below invoice if Im doing the math right... but it looks like you guys are getting thousands off invoice??

Many years ago in a past life I worked for a year and a half selling new Toyotas. An older, more experienced sales person passed along this pearl of wisdom:

Question: How do you know when a customer has gotten a good deal?

Answer: When they feel like they received a good deal.

Circumstances are always different at different dealers, different times, different vehicles, different sales people, different managers, etc. Given your individual circumstances maybe you have done better than anyone else would have in a similar situation.

I can vouch for Koons in Annapolis. They bent over backwards to get me the deal I wanted. I can't remember the exact numbers, but I ended up with 0.9% for an interest rate and about $3K over KBB excellent value for my trade. I think my truck price ended up being right at $30K (Sport 4x4 DCSB).

I visited Koons in Tysons first, since they had the better advertised deal and Annapolis is notoriously more expensive, but they about laughed me out of the dealership.

I'm also a younger, tough negotiating female with a LOT of car buying/trading experience... it takes a special kind of salesman to deal with me. :p

Interestingly, in this deal, they got to a bottom dollar on the truck and wouldn't budge... instead they just kept upping my trade value until we were where I wanted to be... it's all the same difference, but I thought it was strange considering the other Koons dealerships were advertising cheaper truck prices.

My truck listed for 33600. and I had them add a remote start for almost 400.00 . So 34k list. I paid 31k . Truck has navigation entune running board chrome step is 2014 TRD Sport. What always clouds the picture is a trade vehicle. I had price worked out thru internet then I brought my trade into picture for a more accurate price. It was an 2008 Honda CRV AWD loaded w/nav. We started at 13,500 and they ended up giving me 14,950 car was clean with 58k miles. So I ended up with tax about 16k towards deal. Not the best but okay deal imo. Following week they had my Honda on used car lot asking 17,999.

Is that "Out the Door", out the door? Meaning all in after TTL? I'm in SoCal looking for almost the exact same truck.

New member here, just bought a 2014 DCSB TRD off road, for 32k and got the 100k mile warranty for 1,200$ and zero down for anything. they offered free oil changes for the life of the truck too if I get my regular maintenance there.

Yup, but it'll probably take a little work on your part.

It's not about the dealer...it's about finding the right deal.

Go with a new one...you're right, the used ones are too expensive. But that's good for you when you want to sell.

    Cheers,
    Randy

Bought new '14 Tacoma Prerunner DC 2wd TRD Sport AT with Navi and Entunes Plus for $27800 before TTL in April (included running boards, exhaust tip, and rubber stopper on tow hitch). I believe the MSRP was close to 32k. I negotiated before I got to the dealer on the phone so it was a very smooth transaction when I got to the dealer. I have loved every minute of it so far!

Surprised they would assemble anywhere in the US on Labor Day, but perhaps it's coming from Japan. Monday would generally be a bad day from what I've heard.

Mine was made in the Mexico plant. Maybe they all are now?

The old saying was that you didn't want a car built on Monday - cause the workers where still hung over from the weekend, or on a Friday - because they where rushing to go home. I doubt that is much of a factor these days with all the quality checks that Toyota would run before it leaves the factory.
