Holy Jim's Trail today. Pretty dried up but we did find a little mud. Also, there's a new bridge with some paved road about 3/4s to the hike. Hope they don't pave the whole thing. Anyways, here are some pics.

    Bee Canyon:

    Coordinates: 33.737000° -116.823833°.
Start at California 74 near Hemet and drive by the wash line through the Bee Canyon which is usually dry except when it rains. The terrain is sandy and is quite easy to pass by except during the rains, during which the trail is usually closed. On the way you get to see some nice vegetation zones.
As you start the descent out of Bee Canyon you get some good views of the South Fork of the San Jacinto Valley as well as citrus groves to Hemet. Go further and you find yourself on a roughly graded road leading up the Indian Mountain. Here is where you can choose to take the moderate to difficult 4WD Indian Mountain Trail towards the north.
If you continue on the original trial you will soon come across pines, oaks and cypress trees near Pine Cove.
Campers will love this zone which has some excellent campsites but these are rarely available on weekends due to its popularity.
You end the trail at Pine Cove on California 243. For more information on this trail click on this link Dirtopia.

    Ocotillo Wells:

Coordinates: 33.19103 -116.0257. It consists of 40,000 acres of open desert suitable for off-roaders and recreational activities. This area is great for motorcycles, four-wheel drives, all-terrain vehicles, and dune buggys. Inside the park you have pay showers, picnic tables, shade ramadas, fire rings and a dump station. Riders of all levels are assured of a great time in Ocotillo Wells. For the beginners you can choose the flat terrain with some fun little hill climbs, a real technical single track. The more advanced riders have advanced hill climbs. The best spot to go at night is the Blow Sand Hill, the most popular spot in Ocotillo Wells. On winter evenings you can see a stream of lights around the hill that seem to buzz.
Ocotillo Wells is open 365 days a year. There are no fees collected, and plenty of flat desert to set up for any size group of riders and campers. Conveniences like vehicle repair shops, fuel, telephones, groceries, a motel and restaurants are available in the neighboring small town of Ocotillo Wells and along Hwy. 78 where it borders the park. For more information on Ocotillo Wells follow this link Dirtopia.

    Holy Jim:

Located off of the Santiago Canyon Road, nearby the bridge. Holy Jim is a great trail for people brand new to offroading with zero or very little experience. It contains a medium sized trail into the woods which is easy to follow and is great after it rains for a bunch of mud fun. There is also a hill near the beginning off to the left called Jeep Hill, if you are a beginner do not go up it as it can be much more difficult if you don't know what you're doing. Follow this link for more information Dirtopia.

The Offroad Register serves as a source for locations to offroad throughout the socal area that someone in our group has had experience on. Yes there are plenty of books that offer loads of information on this subject but I find it very useful to hear input from people I know and trust on top of all that information, I'm sure many of you feel the same way. So lets all help each other out and share out experiences!
